The best college in Jabalpur

The best thing about my college is that the faculty is awesome and most helpful. The cultural events, labs are in abundance and provide refreshing experiences. The only downside can be the mid semester exams.

I gave the IIT JEE to become an engineer. I was always fascinated by computers. By digging around, i found out that computer science was the way forward. I selected this college for my BE degree as I visited this college during a school trip and found the teachers to be extremely helpful and friendly. And I am proud to have selected this college.

My college is affiliated with RGPV, Bhopal. So the course curriculum is based on their syllabus. It is a little difficult in the first year, as their are some unnecessary subjects being taught, but as the semesters progress the course becomes more and more interesting and geared towards the profession. Though I would have liked more emphasis on the practical approach. But overall it's a well rounded course.

Since I am in the third year, I have yet to take an internship. But hearing from my seniors, the internship my college provides is nice and credible.

Placements are perfect in our college. Almost every year, most of the students in our branch get selected in reputed companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Persistent Technologies with a starting package of 2. 5 to 3. 5 lakhs per annum. Other branches students are also selected by the bulk and almost all students receive quality packages.

Our college celebrates a tech fest every few years and it is just awesome. We have cultural events such as dances, singing, gaming contests and so on. Also teachers day celebration, ethnic day celebration all are just the kind of extra curricular activities a student needs. Every tech fest is big enough and students of all nearby colleges are invited to participate in these fests into various competitions.

Beside above features, the fees is really very affordable. The college also provides various scholarships for students of different categories. The fees of a student in General category is 62000 per year. The college also provides scholarships for students with great performance in 12th standard which is an added bonus.

The college provides scholarships for backward categories every year. However the college does not provide loans facility. The scholarships are also provided on the basis of percentage in 12th standard at the time of admission. These scholarships greatly help reduce the fees for students.

Campus life is great. However between lectures we should get some free time for library visits or doubt clearing by teachers. I can proudly say that all the students are treated equally by the faculty and staff regardless of their ethnicity, economic status or their gender. The gender ratio in is almost 50-50 except in branches such as mechanical engineering.

The college does not provide hostels to my knowledge. However the hostels nearby the college compound are very affordable and the tiffin service is also top notch. The tiffin service can be availed for about 2500 Rs per month and the food is also great.

The seniors are helpful in providing notes and helping out in subjects whenever teachers aren't available. The seniors also establish a great relationship with the juniors by regularly conducting few interaction sessions between semesters.

The examinations conducted during the mid semesters were usually hectic as we had the papers every next day for 5 days. However the labs were perfectly timed and were just enough for the work and also were not very hectic. The labs timing everyday is around 2 hours and I think it to be great balance of practical to the theory lectures.

I have never experienced such friendly and professional teachers in my entire academic life. The faculty is absolutely amazing, no matter how many doubts, they will happily clear them. Each and every teacher is well qualified from a reputed college and institute. Hats off to the faculty!
