Remarks
BIT Sindri falls under the state gov. of Jharkhand and it is the only government college of State. Jharkhand does have 7-8 Private colleges as well but those are 2-3 times more expensive than BIT. One has to score good marks in JEE Mains to get admission in BIT Sindri. I had scored 87 percentile in JEE Mains and then filled the form of JCECE Engineering Entrance in which I get 700+ rank on the basis of score of JEE Mains. After 1 month of the counseling process,I got Civil Branch in BIT SINDRI which I had choosen on top.
Course Curriculum Overview
BIT's faculty and teaching staff are one of the best in the state. They are highly qualified, experienced, and supportive of students. Their teaching skills are above the average. They do set tough papers for mid sem exams but end sem exams are quite good.
Internships Opportunities
Sindri has many companies that provide internships with the college. They give a notable stipend to students. Also, companies like Aditya Birla, tata, and many of the local companies look forward to students of BIT for internships provided by them.
Placement Experience
Campus placement is good for CSE, EE, ECE, IT students, Average for Mech., Metallurgy students, And least for Civil, Mining and Chemical students. Companies like TATA, Wipro, Infosys, Aditya Birla visits every year and provide upto 50% placement. There is no criteria of marks for placement. Its all upto the need of the companies. It has a average package of 6 lacs and the highest of 12 lacs. I'm from Civil and I am looking forward for the competitive exams like JPSE, IES, IAS etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in BIT is very less compared to other Engineering Institutes. It cost around Rs. 10-12k yearly for all categories except TFW and Girls who get relief of Rs. 3.5k yearly. The Hostel fee is 7k/Yearly and mesh charge is 3000/month. Students can apply for any of the scholarship as it supports approx. all the scholarship schemes but the states E-Kalyan scholarship is very famous here. BIT don't have in campus jobs but it provides internship opportunities frequently.
Campus Life
The area of campus is huge and full of trees but the infrastructure is not that impressive. College is just close to the market so almost everything of need is available. The Library is average tough it has all the books we are in need of. One thing this college have in abundance, except the trees, are the Groups and Clubs. It includes sports club, Leo club, every branch have their own club, 3-4 social clubs etc. All the clubs organise their own activities and fests annually.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are average. First-year rooms are big and have 4 beds for students with a closet, chair, desk, and electric switchboard individually. In second-year students shift in rooms of 2 students each. Bathrooms are common for everyone. The meal is great, it has different menus for every day of the week.
