My college review

The admission process of my college (St. Thomas college Autonomous Thrissur) is a spot admission and it is based on the index mark of students. Also considered my NSS and Ex-servicemen quota. At the first stage, an officer check the documents and in the next room, admission cell member calculated the index mark.Also calculated the fee and paid it. H. O. D of Commerce department personally interacted with me and my parents. The admission process is done within an hour. It is very speedy and their coordination is amazing. The next day, there is a session for the students and their parents. There is a three-day orientation programme for the students. It was a great opportunity to know more about the college and the club activities.

I choose this course as per my wish. Because l know that there is a wide scope for this course. The faculties in the college are very supportive. They take classes very well and they also provide maximum information on the topic. They prepare PowerPoint presentations and videos if it is needed. They are also supportive for the extracurricular activities and motivate the students to active participation in club activities. Faculties are very friendly with the students. They are always ready to clear doubts also. Faculties are highly qualified. Many of them achieved their PH. D and others are continuing their research papers. There are three main exams for the students. One semester-end exam and two internal exams. The two internal exams are very helpful for the students to get ready for the semester-end exams.

The last year students (fifth semester and sixth semester) are eligible for the campus placement. 60 students placed in South Indian Bank. The very famous companies such as Byju's, Deloitte, Infosys, cognizant, federal Bank, TCS are the placement partners. 260+ students are placed in the academic year of 2020-2021. The activities of the placement cell are unbelievable. They are providing many workshops, webinars etc for the students. It is very helpful for the students to attent the campus placement easily and without any tension. All placed candidates get an average salary of not less than 35,000 per month.

The fee structure of the college is affordable to all. When compared to other colleges, it is a very low fee structure. The college provides many fee reduction schemes and many scholarships are also provided. Scholarships like post metric scholarships are very helpful to students who are not financially sound.

The various departments and clubs of our college conduct many programmes like webinars, workshops etc. Tuorofest by commerce department, Srishti, film festival, food fest, cake competition by Entrepreneurship Development club, college day, home day, programmes related to onam and Christmas, cooking competition by cookery club are very interesting events. Each clubs have their own social media accounts. College library contains many books, journals, magazines, newspapers etc and they are arranged properly. The availability of books and college related news are also available in college website. Previous year question papers are available in the library and website. Each student have their on username and password to login the college website. Faculties and whole college are very supportive for the extracurricular and sports activities. College achieved first position in the D-zone youth Festival and many sports competitions. Each classrooms contains a projector and a screen.
