The colleges I applied to were St. Thomas college, Thrissur, St. Aloysius College, and Christ College. I got in all three colleges but the reason I chose St. Thomas college was the placement opportunities as opposed to other colleges, its central location added the advantage of traveling, also the institution was planning its centennial celebrations. I got the admission through general merit which had a cut-off of 97%. The whole process was very smooth going with guidance from the faculties and staff. Also, the college has a well-maintained and up-to-date website which helps to avail any service from the institution. A orientation was held immediately for both students and parents which helped to familiarize them with college activities, clubs, programs, etc.

I chose B. Com due to my entrepreneurial background and interest in finance and related subjects. My class has a strength of 62 with boys - girls ratio of 40-20. Faculties at St. Thomas College are excellent scholars who are experts in their fields. They are highly qualified intellectuals. Most of them with a doctorate or pursuing it. As earlier commented the website maintained by the college makes it easy for students to log in to their personal accounts and review the performance of the faculties. The college's autonomous status gives the advantage of timely exams. The three-year course has six semesters. Each semester has an internal exam of 20 marks, a model exam of 60marks, and a sem-end exam of 80 marks. I myself a fifth sem student don't have a delayed exam to the date. Students could quite easily and fairly ace the test through academic performances and methods.

St. Thomas college provides students with assistance to get internships from LinkedIn, Internshala, etc. Such an internship provides students with the required exposure and skills for the real world. Final year students have to prepare projects in their last semester. Each student gets through guidance and support from the project guide throughout the project period.

The last year's students are eligible for campus placement. A record of 64 students was placed in South Indian Bank this year. Byju's, Infosys, Deloitte, federal bank, TCS are a few of the companies that made offers. A minimum salary package of 2 lakh and a maximum of 4 lakh was offered. 260+ students were placed in the academic year 202-21. I hope to get placed immediately after the course and later pursue MBA.

The fee structure in the college is very economical. I have a fee of 3345. The college provides various scholarships and stipends throughout the course like e- grants, central scholarship, etc. The college provides assistance to students to avail such benefits.

Cultural fest, annual fest, tech fest are all held in the college which are the highlights of the academic experience. Also have bagged D- zone cup for consecutive years. The college has various clubs like ED club, sports club, dance club, cookery club, music club, Jesus- youth, adventure club, book club, etc. One of the highlights among them is the placement club that equips and assists you for career opportunities. The college has vast libraries spread in different blocks of the institution. Technical support is also available in libraries. Sports and sports clubs are quite active in the college. Cricket, yoga, football, swimming, weight lifting, tennis, badminton, cycling, etc are a few to mention.
