I took the JEE MAINS exam , I did not score well at all (70 on 360). But somehow got admission in Chitkara university Punjab. They evaluated my 12th std marks and Mains score and I opted for Computer Science as I was very passionate about Computer Science.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is designed according to the need of an AVERAGE student. It is not very HI-Fi in terms of syllabus but I preferred chitkara over other institutes because they are well designed for computer science as They are taking all the exams online and preparing students well for computer applications.
Internships Opportunities
No, They don't allow us before 4th year to go for internships neither allow any company comes for getting internship.
Placement Experience
Yes, Chitkara University is only famous for its placement opportunities. They have a 100% placement goal which is actually true by the fact that the students which don't get actually jobs are placed within chitkara only. But most of the students are placed in well multinational companies and they offer an average of 4-5 lakh package (P.A).
College Events
Many technical and cultural events are celebrated in the college. The participate is usually national level and celebration does happen more often. But the college student still have their classes going on while the celebration which is a pain in the neck.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is expensive as compared to other college as it is a private university. For me, I pay 75000 per semester and it turns out to be 6 lakhs for the whole degree which I think is a bit expensive for an middle class family in india but the fee is worth because of the placements opportunities they have to offer to their students.
Fees and Financial Aid
They send students to foreign universities who are above average on scholarships and does provide loan if needed.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is excellent, they conduct regular meetups all over the country and senior students dos help juniors when they reach out to them.
Exam Structure
Mainly for Computer Science the exams are conducted online which is a very good move to make the students give a professional outlook for the future multinational companies. Yes the days are very hectic and you don't get enough time to chill as compared to other colleges.
Admission
They evaluated my 12th std marks and Mains score. They also had an interview asking me that why I was choosing Computer Science and after they were sure that I was confident and passionate about Computer Science, they let me in. The administration was very good and co-operative.
Faculty
The faculty is NOT GOOD. If any student wants to study in Chitkara University, they have to study on your own according to the curriculum which is good. All teachers here are just masters students doing part time teaching in the college and those which are full-time are not well experienced.
