Decent college

I applied for various NIT's for CSE undergraduate program, unfortunately due to low score I couldn't get there. My target was CSE only, I didn't wanted to opt for other branches. I got IIITDM Jabalpur on Round 1 and NIT Hamirpur on Round 7 of JOSSA Counselling, but I decided to go for CSAB and reopt IIITDM as I had location issues with NITH. NITH is good college, but I wanted to opt for a college closer to my residing. I searched for all available seats in CSAB counselling for SC candidates in CSE, and IIITDMJ was the best option left. I availed Home State quota for IIITDM Jabalpur. I think a SC candidate and easily get into IIITDM Jabalpur CSE by getting a SC Rank of under 3000.

I chose CSE because I had interest in Computers from a early age and CSE has better placements as compared to other branches. CSE is in-demand and a hotspot for Engineering students. Here, we have 250 CSE students. Girls are less, around 30 girls only I think. Gender ratio is around 7:1. B.Des branch has considerably more girl population. Since I have been learning online, I can't tell about their nature of offline teaching. In online mode, the faculty wasn't good. Many professors would come and just read ppts, students understand nothing. Only few professors were good in teaching. We had 4 Quizzes in a Semester, it was online on canvas platform, no camera or video. Students dont understand much in online mode, so they rely on google and pdfs to pass the exam. To avoid cheating in exams, professors made many sets of questions.

Most of the placements and interships are bagged by CSE students. placements and interships are offered to 4th year students. Students prefer off campus placements . Average CTC is around 7LPA. Big giants like Google, microsoft dont visit us. Few seniors also have cracked GSOC.

Placements or internships are offered to final year studnets. Around 7-8 LPA packages have been received by seniors. I want to get placement from college. 7+ CPI is considered safe, but 8+ CPI is appreciated

I think the fee for the next coming batch of SC students will be double that of ours. In online mode, there is no mess or hostel charge, so the cost is significantly reduced. Scholarships opportunities are available. Other category students avail government scholarships like MMVY. I still haven't bagged any internship here. My fee is 10750 for the online semester, so it's affordable for me.

Online we didn't have any tech fest yet, or sports or extra activities. Only cultural clubs had their activities like music club, dance club, poetry, art, which all is possible online. But unfortunately no sports. We have a good Programming club where seniors interact with us and help us with programming concepts.
