Remarks

1. I applied for Delhi School of Journalism, didn't attend since shifting to another city was an issue. I applied for Christ University, I didn't opt since I heard that exposure is not given to students and for my course it was necessary. I also applied for Kristu Jayanti College and Mount Carmel College didn't go since SJC was a priority. 2. No I didn't, 3. Admission criteria is the same as many other colleges. An aggregate of 60% is required in 12th. they would conduct an exam and an interview before you get enrolled. 4. I applied through SJC official website, after that they called for an exam. the results were declared the same day in the evening. list was put up on the SJC website. The next day, I had a PI and I was in. During an interview, they would walk you through the course and would let you know how challenging it's going to be.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

1. I chose this course since I wanted to learn about Journalism alongside brushing my skills in Literature and this is the best combination one could go for. the course offers one type of journalism, Print Journalism. 2. The course offers a wide range of experienced and well-educated faculty. the English department is known to have the best facultya across bangalore. The overall EJP faculty consists of around 30 professors. While the class strength is esitmated to be near 60. 3. Each of the faculty is very experienced in thier field. they try to engage students in various activities and events to build up thier skills in all dimensions. 4. SJC is very disciplined when it comes to exams and it always conducts exams on time. it is not easy to get through the course EJP if you haven't studied much. Skimming doesn't help here. One needs to pay a lot of pf attention to what teachers say during the class.

Placement Experience

4

From the 5th semester, students are eligible for placements on the requirement that the student doesn't have any backlog. A lot of companies visit such as DE Shaw, Deloitte, Cognizant etc. And the goal is to place maximum students. In my year around 1500 students have applied for placements as of now and 20 are already placed. The highest package offered this year till now was by DE Shaw for the job role Financial Research Associate, CTC- 21.5 LACS. Deloitte offered the CTC of 5.5 LACS.

Fees and Financial Aid

SJC isn't very costly as compared to christ. EJP is the course which has fees more than any other Arts course. The scholarship is caste-based. also, the fees is reduced if the student belongs to catholic community. A lot of companies come to Joseph's for placements, such as DE SHAW, Deloitte, etc. for my course, the first year fees was 78,000 rs. second year 68,000 rs. third year 65,000 rs.

Campus Life

5

Three major fests that are being conducted are Pratibha (September), intra-collegiate fest. Visages ( December), inter-collegiate fest. META ( February), along 20 days literature festival hosted by the English dept. library with all the required study material can be accessed and issued. different libraries are made for PG and UG. Well-ventilated, with a smart classroom, wifi is provided by the college. Sports include football, volleyball, kho-kho, etc. well-trained coaches and students are called early morning for practice. they are trained every day. NSS and NCC are available too. NCC has two forces, Armed and Air. NCC cadets experience one of the best adventures as they do trekking, rafting, etc. A lot of social groups are thier such as SJC Quiz club, The literary society, Consilium, Sumana, Western and Indian Dance association, Western Music Associations, JAM, MIMA, SJC Fashion team, etc. In terms of social life, SJC is 10/10 since not just students but teachers are friendly as well

Interview Experience

3.5

I did have an entrance test that dealt with the basics of the course. some questions were asked from creative writing, while some were general knowledge. it was a 1-hour exam. once my name came on the list, I gave a personal interview which wasn't hard at all. anybody without preparation could sit as well as it was more of an introduction than questioning.

Other Applied Colleges

Christ University | EJP

I heard a lot of my friends dropping out because of the less exposure they were subjected to.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
