Remarks

I had applied for engineering counseling but I knew I cant get a government college for my cut-off. So I decided to opt for this course, as this course is the first of its kind in India and it's purely run by Tamilnadu Government and it comes under TAMILNADU VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES UNIVERSITY (TANUVAS). I had also been selected for sports quota also, but I got admission in merit entry, so I didn't avail myself of sports quota entry. Admission was purely based on my 12th public exam cut-off marks which included Biology, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. The admission process was very transparent and strictly adhering to the rules declared by the TN government and TANUVAS.

As I had already mentioned, this course was the first of its kind in India and I happened to be the first batch for this course. In addition, getting a professional degree from a government institution for my cut-off (around 190) was a great thing. My teachers were highly trained, skilled, and qualified and they are purely veterinarians qualified Ph.D. under various disciplines such as Poultry science, Meat science, dairy science, Microbiology, etc. The term exams will be around once in 2 or 3 weeks and the exams could be rated from moderate to tough.

Placement Experience

I became eligible for my campus interview in my 7th semester and during my tenure we had 4 companies and they had made various offers in various sectors of the poultry industry. The highest package offered during my tenure was Rs.20000 and we got 100% placement

I had got a BC scholarship from the government and I was selected in a campus interview to work with MNC named CPF India Pvt. Ltd. Students can also get a number of other scholarships such as First graduate concession, SC/ST concession, etc

Campus Life

Since my course is on a semester basis, our semester exams will be at the end of each semester and there is no particular month to which these exams could be conducted. There are ample books and scientific journals available in the library and the students also get access to OPAC and various other scientific journals access. We had state of art classrooms and we had complete access to sports amenities

Hostel Facilities

We had good hostel facilities and an attached bathroom and we were 2 members per room. Meal quality was good and hostel fees were 5000rs as a security deposit and other than that only a mess bill was charged. the mess was a student mess based on the divided mess

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.

The application should be done by Tamilnadu Veterinary And Animal Sciences University. Application fees are Rs 500. I Was applied to the MBC quota. The minimum mark is 60% and above.
