Remarks
This was better than the NITs that i was getting according to my ranking. Being in Noida, a lot of good companies come for placements here. It's also consistently the best University in Noida so that helps a lot from visibility standing to companies.
Course Curriculum Overview
CSE is the best course of you want to get placed in good companies. A lot of companies only include CSE students in their eligibility criteria. Faculty student radio is pretty good compared to Indian standards. My class had only 45 students. A lot of technology is incorporated in teaching like projectors. All the facilities have PHDs as a requirement. But few facilities have good or great coding knowledge so you have to keep that in mind. Exams happen timely always. Everything is very professional. You should be able to pass even if you study a day before but a few semesters are tough so you will have to study hard to get good grades or even pass on those semesters. I think second and third year are the toughest.
Internships Opportunities
I opted for online internship due to the civic situation. A lot of companies give internship in the 7th semester for a few months with the goal of converting them into pregnant jobs. Companies like TCS, COGNIZANT, INFOSYS, Amazon, Deloitte and a lot of startups like ecom express, kuliza, etc. The stipend ranges from 15000 to 50000 per month. You are generally interning for an SDE role, business analysts, some students get tired such as marketing, pr remains, etc. In internships, you are given a mentor that introduces you to how work is done at the company. You work on live projects, with tasks such as writing or reviewing content, with code, communicating with developers about features, etc.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible starting from the 7th semester. A lot of companies visit, Adobe, Amazon, de shaw, Samsung, SAP, Deloitte are the big ones that visit every year, along with mass recruiter like TCS, Infosys, wipro, cognizant and loads of startups that gives great salaries and a modern relaxed office lifestyle. The college routinely achieves over 95% placement so most likely a student will get placed. As per packages, Adobe offers around 4 students with 43lpa every year, Amazon offers around 30-40 students 27 lpa every year, de shaw also offers above 20 lpa every year, Samsung has similar offers but doesn't come every year. There are hundreds of offers in the 10-20lpa range every year, along with hundreds of offers in the 6-10 lpa range and ofcourse the mass recruiters give almost 1000 offers every year with salary from 3.5 to 8 lpa . as per my plans, i didn't want to be a software engineer, so i got placed as a technical writer in a start-up with good salary. Being from the CSE branch definitely helped.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There is a 10% few hike every year. When i started hostel cost around 55000 it increased to above 60000 by the end. There are a few concessions given to minority groups. Most of the students get placed even if they started work in the 4th year but keep your CGPA above 7 to be eligible in almost all companies. Very few companies have 7.5 as cutoff so if you want 100% eligibility keep that in mind. I got a job with 90000 stipend.
Campus Life
The life at campus is what you make if it, there is enough going on in the campus like festivals, seminars, coding events, etc that will keep you busy. The library is decent but students mostly just use it as a quiet place for studying. It doesn't have lakhs of books. First year is the prime time for taking part in different festivals, coding groups, electronics groups or enjoy the Noida lifestyle full of restaurants and clubs. Being in the middle of Noida is the biggest strength and weakness. Due to being in Noida college campus isn't very expensive, there is a cemented football, basketball ground and a garden (not for playing) and that's about it due to the shy high rent of land in Noida. But being in the middle of one of India's most developed parts means easy access to every food item you can think of, every thing can be delivered to you, grocery can be delivered within 2 hours from Amazon and you feel connected unlike a lot of colleges with giant campuses but in a desolate area. There are a lot of companies right besides the college, my roommate got an internship in one of those. Infrastructure is new and very well maintained, really well maintained. There's a metro station right in front of the college that gives access to every corner of Delhi ncr, we used it to go on many trips across Delhi. Just buy a metro card and travel is seamless and air conditioned. So overall if you an outgoing person, this is literally the best you can get in terms of college location. If you don't go out, delivery on you doorstep is best and fastest anywhere in India. The college doesnt have as many activities as say an IIT, and don't expect superstars on the campus for the festivals either.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is good. Rooms are not big but comfortable size. There's a centralised Ac that starts cooling in the evening. The room a study table with drawers, one almirah and one big shelf along with extra storage inside your bed for each of the two students in the room. One room accommodates only two people so don't work you won't have 5 people living in a small room. you get approximately 1 gb of internet everyday. Food is ok, very hygienic but you will get tired of it and eventually get into tha habit of ordering from swiggy or zomato almost everyday due to the availability even if it's 3 o clock at night. You can get registered for hostel the time you are being registering for college. Don't wait as the hostel is in high demand.
