Remarks

Majorly, JSS Science and technology university is the topmost technical university in Mysuru. The University is just within a radius of 2km from my home as well. The quality of education is above average and these reasons were the main motivation for me to join the institute. The quality of education totally depends on which branch you choose. Since Im from mechanical branch, the professors are very good from my perspective. The admission process is fairly simple. As per the counselling from CET, you choose the college using the code mentioned in the online process, later you arrive at the college at the given time slot and date. Pay the college fee (55321) for 1st year by hard cash or Demand draft. Your admission is confirmed. The above procedure is for aided seats and unaided seats (fee is different). For management seats, you'll have to enquire at the main office (located inside the university). One of the main reasons for preferring this college over the others is the placements. The placement training starts during the 3rd year and recruitments starts at the beginning of 4th year. It has proved 100% placements every year. Though the placements are 100% for only CS and ECE branches, other branches also get ample number of recruiters compared to other colleges. For more information (Faculty info, infrastructure, etc.) you can also visit ssstuniv website. The campus is very huge and is the most cleanest campus in the whole Mysore. The campus is covered with greenery. Ragging is strictly prohibited.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

From my childhood, I was fascinated by machines, aircrafts etc.which inspired me to be a Mechanical engineer. Apart from this, the faculty of Mechanical Engineering department are super qualified and the professors are experienced the their respective fields. The faculty to student ratio is 1:4. We have totally 5 events, among which two events might be quiz or assignments or tests. Other three are mandatory written tests. Difficulty level depends on the students effort. I felt easy to pass the tests.

Internships Opportunities

5

Students if 5th and 6th semester are offered internships from the companies which come for placements. They offer a stipend of 20000 to 50000 depending on the company. There are chances of students getting placed (permanent) in the same company as well

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements start from the end of 6th semester. The placements are excellent for CS & ECE branches and satisfactory for others. Companies like Amazon, Cisco, DXF, Aurigo, etc. including 104 more companies visit the campus for IT sectors and companies like Bosch, Mercedes Benz, Scheinder, TE Connectivity, L&T , JK Tyres, Rishi polymers, Applied materials etc. recruit non-circuits branch students. The placement training starts by the end of 3rd year. The highest package offered was by Cisco 2400000/ year. On an average 700000 is the package

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees decrement over the course of time. That is, youll have to pay less fee during your 4th year compared to the previous years. People with poor financial background will be waived off the CET fee only. Government scholarships have to be applied separately. No scholarship from the college is provided. There is no university in Mysore with the placements as much as it is in JSS university. This university tops in the placements each and every years. The highest package is about 24,00,000/annum and average is about 7,00,000 /annum

Campus Life

5

There are many technical and non-technical clubs. I lead one of the technical club(AeroJC). We built RC aircrafts and participated in International SAE Aerodesign and aero Modelling competition. This happens every year and the entire amount is sponsored by the university. Apart from these, BALAGA is a drama club and NAADA is a musical club, SAHAS is an adventurous club, etc. The campus is very huge with sophisticated and latest technologies in the laboratories. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the campus and has one of the largest libraries amongst all the technical universities in Mysuru. It also has a digital library with access to huge number of journals and research papers.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are single, double and triple occupancy rooms for both girls and boys hostel. The girls and boys hostel are at the extreme ends of the campus (1km apart). The food quality is satisfactory. The new building is quite clean. There is access to laundry (washing machine and ironing). Menu is repetitive weekly and would be special dusting festive. The food is pure VEG. There are many rented rooms and PGs within the radius of 1km as well

Admission

There is no GD or PI during admission. The admission process is online selection of university through CET counselling and document verification. The fee payment is only on campus. For management seats, enquire at the office.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
