Reality of iiit jabalpur

Good- faculties, facilities,campus,etcBad- placement (core )Admission is based on jee mains.Reason for choosing this college-at my jee main rank it was best college so i choose this college.One more thing i want to add about this college that if your family income is less than 2.5 lakh then your tution fee will be refunded but there is one more condition that your cpi should be 7.5+.

I choose mechanical engineering because i love it.The faculty of our college are awesome. All the facilities are well qualified and hold phd.Student ratio in mechanical branch is 55 boys and 8girls same with smart manufacturing, in ece 15girls and 110boys and in cse 30 girls and 220 girls.The semester exam are very tough in our college but since grading is relatively is it is very difficult to fail in a subject but it is also very difficult to maintain 8.5 cpi.

Placements have definitely improved, however, its seems to be really slow paced or rather somewhat stagnant when comparing 2015 and 2016 batch. The campus does have TCS / infy / Wipro coming in, however, the number of core product development companies in the college in very less compared to the batch strength. OFSS, Wise Cells, CIQ, Persistent, Yodlee, Canon and Vassar are the ones that visit college regularly. Even SnapDeal did not turn up for placements this year. As far as WorkApp is concerened it visits each NIT / IIIT i guess. (Although getting placed there is a testimony of the good quality students IIIT-Jbp has but again its just 1 selection of the entire lot of CSE)None of the top tier companies visit on-campus ( Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle Server Tech, Linkedin, Flipkart, Ebay, PayPal, Directi, and list goes on and on ). Compared to other IIIT (Allahabad / Gwalior and Hyderabad ) and some NITs, IIITDM Jbp is still far behind. Thats the ground reality

Tution fee is 65k.hostel fee is 7k and mess fee is 10k. Mess food is okay.Hostel are 3seater. Scholarship named MCM is there for students whose family income is less than 2.5lakh their tution fee get refunded if their cpi is 7.5+. Median package of our college is 9.5lakh per annum.But for mechanical branch getting placed in core company is almost impossible.Here i am talking about on campus placement.But one thing is for sure than every year Brahmos aerospace recruit 1 student of mechanical branch and package is 12 lakh per annum.

Camping life is quite well as we got too much fee time because class are very less. There are 3 annual fest at our college.TARANG - cultural fest of iiitj gave enough reason for an individual to enjoy the fest for whole 3 days. Many other colleges were part of the fest. Many events like debate , nukkad natak, tree painting, poetry , mock parliament, band war etc. were organized and also on each night one major event was held which featured standup comedian Akash mehta , russian dj julia bliss , and the sting band. Also the prize money of each event was quite good because of the sponsors fest attaracted.GUSTO - the annual sports fest of iiitj also ended up on high note with many sports which engaged quite a lot colleges of the city and other places also. Cricket, football, badminton,table tennis, tennis, Athletics, chess etc. were the major events of the fest. Believe me, the overall atmosphere of the college was just amazingly exciting for each student here.ABHIKAlpa N - one of the most important fest of the college attaracted alot of attention of the others as it was India's first techno-design fest. It featured Sang wong seouk a designer from south Korea, workshop and hacakathon from ibm , Army band which was literally fantastic, KTM stunt show , photography, astronomy exhibits which were real good , Ordinance exhibition showcasing vehicles and weaponry used in wars and ofcourse many competitions and workshops in technical and design fields. Also events like Blind date , small games, cosmos, sadhguru foundation event etc. made the fest completely full of knowledge and fun.

Yes, we have given jee main for admission but there was no interview for admission only you have to score a nice rank in jee main for general if i talk branch wise then cse - 10-15k, ece 20k-25k , mechanical 30k-35k.
