Remarks
I chose this college just because it was quite near from my place and secondly the fee structure and the study pattern was well-structured as compared to other private universities. There are many other private universities, however, this one is quite better.
Course Curriculum Overview
As per me, the course curriculum, academics and the faculties are good here. The course curriculum is a bit different from that of other law schools and there is less of practical knowledge. However, there are moot courts and other competitions so one needs to be ann active participant in order to built their CV. Talking about the faculties, so the university is improving on its faculties.
Internships Opportunities
I have done around 10 internsips until now, yet they all were arranged by my ownself. There are many good law firms and advocates who can provide you good internship and learning experience after taking an interview and assigning work. There are internship with stipend but one needs to have patience atleast till 4th year. There will be colleagues telling you that these internships are waste of time but remember it is NOT. Apply for internships atleast 5 months prior and keep following up to your applications.
Placement Experience
Placements of my college are okay. I would not say that it is excellent just because as much I have heard from my seniors it is not that good. One needs to excel in the field and find his/her own internships and try fro jobs at their end.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is better if we compare with other private universities. The university has a well-defined scholarship structure where a meritorious student can study with 100% scholarship also. There are 3 categories for scholarship- 25% for students securing 85-90% in class 12th and maintaing a good CGPA throughout, 50% for students securing 90-95% in class 12th and 100% for 95% and above. The campus placements are good, however to be frank don't be dependent on campus placement, find your own internships and look for placements there itself
Campus Life
Campus life at Amity University, Lucknow campus is good. There are lots of events like Sangathan (sports fest), Amiphoria (cultural fest). If you are planning for law, then there are many committes like Legal aid, Moot court, Seminar and many others. There are dance clubs and music bands (if you are a dance or instrument lover). There are well-maintained courts like basketball, badminton, football, volleyball.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good here. The cost of hostel is 65,000 per year excluding food. The mess charges are different. Before lockdown, the charges were 3,500 per month which included 4 meals a day and unlimited food. The hostel has 3 rooms in one lobby with a common bathing room for 6 people. One room accomodates 2 people. There are AC rooms but at a cost of 1 lakh per year excluding food.
Admission
There was a PI for admission. However, I scored above 85% in 12th standard so I did not have to go through any such process. However, the other students who went through this process told that the interview process was good and it was a basic questionnarie round.
