Course Curriculum Overview
Course is mainly based on theoretical proficiency combined with extensive practical trainings in various labs. Faculties are very supportive and have high knowledge in their areas of expertise. Faculties are MTech and PhD holders from top institutions like IITs and NITs. Regular class tests ensure we never loose track with curriculum or course. Teaching is mainly on blackboard with PowerPoint/videos for animated understanding of motional concepts.
Internships Opportunities
I did my internship at ONGC Ltd. at their Uran plant as a Trainee engineer. No stipend was provided as minimum period for paid internship was 3 months but we only had a month's semester break. Tasks included studying the plant layout and understanding the "how & what" of a power plant as an amateur.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from 7th semester. Core companies like Worley, ETAP, BMD, Godrej, L&T, Afcons, Torrent Power, Sterling & Wilson etc. visit campus every year for placements. Many IT & Business development companies also recruit from core branches. Highest core package have been 7 lpa and lowest at 3 lpa in 2019 batch. Roughly 60% students sit for placements of which 90-95% get placed. The remaining 40% go for higher studies, government jobs or off-campus recruitments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees are quite reasonable based on services offered during the entire course. General scholarships and fee-waivers are applicable as per government norms. Financial assistance may be given based on economic conditions as per management's decision. Campus jobs of Lab assistantship is rumoured to start in R&D for BE students, but its available for ME students on pay basis.
Campus Life
A very lively college with intracollege fest "FACES" every odd semester and intercollege fest "Etamax" every even semester. Various departmental fests would also take place each semester for a day or two. Library is well supplied with latest books by highly knowledgeable authors. Classrooms are neat and well-maintained with modern teaching amenities. Sports has its importance here being a "Fr. Agnel" college with football turf, basketball court, swimming pool and other amenities. Agnel Social Cell also organises trips to ashrams and old age homes and take part in various social activities around the year.
Admission
No test was required for admission as the institute followed University norms of admission via centralized test scores of JEE Mains or MHCET. For those not fulfilling criteria, an interview to test a few skills and worthiness to course was judged and donation fee was declared accordingly for each student based on their responses.
