Entrance Preview

Given SAT 2, No entrance exam given in India as was a foreign student and therefore, was eligible for NRI Seat in the college. Opted for this college as was one of the best colleges in the country for Automobile Engg.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course was not very theory based. All of the faculty members including the Head of the Department (HOD) concentrated more on giving real life examples to explain the theories in the subjects. Moreover, a very good experience and all the colleges should follow the pattern of supporting the students in participating tech events in other colleges.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college does provide internship for the students of the college itself in any of the on-going projects in the university. There is no stipend as it is more of a learning experience rather than a money making experience.

Placement Experience

5

A lot of companies come to the college, the most prominent ones are General Electric, Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes Benz, Tata Motors, Futures First, Sandisk and many more. As far as I know, every year, more than 85% of the outgoing students get on campus placements.

College Events

5

There are Two fests in Manipal Institute of Technology. Tech Tatva - Held in the odd semester in the month of October generally, Tech Tatva is the Technical fest of MIT where there are events like Fuel RC, Robo Wars etc. in which various colleges participate. Revels - Held in the even semester in the month of March generally, Revels is the Cultural Festival of MIT where there are events related to dancing, music etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

A little bit on the expensive side but manageable. For me, I had to pay a total of US$ 32,000 over the course of 4 years as tuition fees. I had to pay in US$ as I was an NRI category student. The hostel fees on the other had was about INR 1,00,000 for an A/C sharing room and about INR 1,50,000 for a single A/C room.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college offers free tuition for the people who are ranked amongst the first 1000 (one thousand) students in the entrance exam of the university. If anyone does get a free scholarship, they need to maintain their yearly CGPA to >8.0 to maintain it. or else they will lose the scholarship and will have to pay the current tuition fee for the rest of the years.

Campus Life

5

Campus life was amazing. A lot of co-curricular activities to participate in after the college has ended which was by 5:30 PM. Swimming pool. basketball court (Indoor and Outdoor) Cricket ground, Football Ground, Hockey Ground Tennis Court, Badminton Courts, Gyms and a lot more to do.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an Alumni Network and I'm a member as well. But not an active member therefore, cannot speak much about it.

Admission

Was supposed to send my Class 12th Board Report Card copy in which I had to score more than 70 % in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. After this, I was supposed to send the hard copy of the admission form to the college. After they had accepted the same, we were supposed to pay the first year tuition fee and registration fee.

Faculty

5

Never had any problem with any of the faculty members. As I said, all of the faculty members including the HOD concentrated more on real life examples for explaining the theories and supported all of the co-curricular activities that students wished to participate in.
