Remarks
The most important factor was it is one of the best technical institutes in India. IIT Kanpur pulls our focus towards how we can apply what we have studied in the real world. There are many projects offer by the professor and the teaching style of the professor are the best compare to other colleges. Also, the faculty-student ratio is good (approx. 1:8). Students also get exposure to extra-curricular activities apart from studies. There are many clubs that are operated by students. The Placement is very good and many students get their dream job with good packages. Also, the Entrepreneurship environment is very good. One can do his own startup which will be incubated by IIT Kanpur. To get admission in IIT Kanpur one has to qualify both JEE mains and JEE Advance but the merit is made on the basis of rank in JEE Advance. Normally JEE Advance is held on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in the month of May but due to COVID-19, the dates are changed. One can check the date and syllabus on https://jeeadv.ac.in/ After JEE Advanced JOSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts the seat allocation and the registration starts from the 2nd week of June and it is a month-long process and many rounds for seats are conducted.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Chemical Engineering at IIT Kanpur ranks among the best of the nation and I wanted to go into the field of process engineering and plant design. Mainly we can do research in Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, Nano-Technology, Colloids and many more. The faculty : student ratio in my branch is 1:7 (and 1:10 overall). The faculty are highly educated and their teaching method is very good. Many of them have won may international and national prizes in the field of teaching and research. Basically in a semester one midsem and one endsem examination is conducted, also small quizzes (2~3) are also taken. Passing in exam is not difficult, if a student attends every class with good attention and solves problems given by professor then he/she can easily get good marks.
