Remarks
Students were asked to create a one-minute Statement of Purpose video. This Statement of Purpose video would explain why they were passionate about the course and why exactly they wished to get into Amity University, Mumbai. For Fashion Styling & Image Design, there were no portfolio submissions or entrance exams, but I've heard that there were interviews/entrance exams for some other courses like Fashion Design. I don't believe there are any cut-offs per se.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am passionate about Fashion but lack a little creativity. I always knew I wanted to do something fashion-related. That is why I chose this course. The teachers are very supportive and helpful, they are always willing to lend a hand to students in need. All of them hold at least a bachelor's degree in fashion. There are two exams in a semester, midterms and endsems. Exams are OBE/MCQ based and they aren't very difficult to crack as they are all practical-based questions.
Internships Opportunities
Internships related to the course you have chosen are offered. There are various fashion brands like Pantaloons, H&M, Zara, D'Decor for textile that offer an internship to students. Some work on dummy projects while some are live projects.
Placement Experience
Over 90% of students get placements for their desired course. Internships are made compulsory for students to get hands-on experience before completing the degree. Some even offer jobs after the duration of the internship.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since Amity is a private college, fees are a little on the high end. But there are scholarships available, the top 10% of students can receive 100%, 50%, and 25% off on academic fees based on their overall scores for the year.
Campus Life
There are a lot of student clubs, events, and competitions are held pretty frequently. The student council is available for students at all time, problems are tried to be solved without the involvement of staff members. The library is pretty well stocked with over 2000 books. The campus is pretty big, there are student lounges available, and overall, makes college life fun.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is home to over 2000 students. The rooms are 'Apartment Style,' there are three rooms in one dorm. Common bathroom and sitting areas are available. Two students would be sharing a room and basic amenities like laundry, bed, study table, and wardrobe are provided.
Other Applied Colleges
FAD Academy | Fashion Communication and Business
I live in Mumbai, and accomodation would have been a problem.
