Experience and Review of BPIT

Firstly, I took admission to the Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology which is affiliated with AKTU for BTech Information Technology. But as I don't much aware of College management, placements, Faculty So I dropped my admission and then got admission to Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology which is affiliated with GGSIPU for the course BTech Information Technology. In GGSIPU, Admission took place on the criteria of at least 60% marks in Diploma or Class 12th. And in the case of 12th, There should be 60% at least in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. I was a diploma holder so I gave IPU CET which is only for Lateral entry students. In that CET, I got a "421" rank. There were 6 rounds of counseling in which last 2 were spot rounds. So I was selected in the second last round as there were just 7 seats in the college for the IT branch. Overall, I can say that after the diploma, Admission is a little bit difficult as there are less fewer seats in all the GGSIPU colleges for LE students.

I choose the IT branch as I was not getting CSE Branch in the same college. But, I would say from the placement point of view Branch doesn't matter. Your skills only matter. The faculty and student ratio in the college is 1:65. In the college, almost all faculties have done their Ph.D.'s from reputed colleges and universities. And the Pedagogy of teachers is very good in the college. The duration of each semester is 6 months. And in between the final exams of the semester, Mid sem exams are conducted in around the 2nd or 3rd month which consists of 30 marks for each subject. Exams conducted are usually easy so It will be easy to pass them.

Companies like Amazon offer an internship at the start of the 7th semester and it lasts long till the student gets the Degree of BTech. It offers roles like Software Development Engineer and Amazon Web Services. Your problem-solving skills should be good and You should be proficient in Data structures & Algorithms along with Relational Databases, Operating systems, etc.

From the start of the 7th semester, Placement season starts for the current batch graduating in the respective year. Many top companies visit the campus like Amazon, AWS, Microsoft, ZS Associates, Commvault, Josh Technologies, Paytm, etc., and service-based companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Infosys, etc. The highest package offered for the 2021 batch was 43 LPA, the average offered was 6.5 LPA and Lowest package is 3.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placements is around 85-90%. The remaining students opt for higher studies and Civil services exam preparation.

As I got admission in the 2nd year in the College, So I paid Rs 128800 in the 2nd year. And in the 3rd year, The fee was Rs 118800. In the 4th year maybe it will be Rs 110800. In the Year 2020, University fees were hiked from Rs 12000 to Rs 15000 per annum. I don't know much about scholarships but as per my knowledge, Students get fee waivers at some terms and conditions - 25% Fee waiver - Annual income less than Rs 500000/- per annum 50% Fee waiver - Annual Income between Rs 250000 - 500000/- per annum 100% Fee waiver - Annual income less than Rs 250000/- including ration card. Note - The fee waiver will only be given on the tuition fees of the college.

There was an annual fest named "CORONA" conducted in the year 2019. After that, no fests were conducted due to Covid 19. There are Smart Boards in every classroom in the college and labs are maintained and cleaned on regular basis. There are many Technical clubs which are running by college students named "#Define", "CSI BPIT". These clubs conduct coding contests and hackathons in the college on regular basis.
