Entrance Preview
I took RPET Rajasthan Pre Engineering test in 2011 and secured 1100 rank and got admitted in Computer science and engineering (CSE). I had an option of NIT Durgapur in chemical engineering. But, after discussion with my seniors and elders I chose CTAE.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not upto the mark. It follows the traditional approach( with respect to computer science and engineering). In order to achieve something you should better learn new technologies and tools that are in trend. The course is not good in terms of doing research.
Internships Opportunities
Other than agricultural engineering and mining engineering, the college does not provide any sort of internship. The students has to apply on their own in other universities or companies.
Placement Experience
The placements are average. (3.0- 4.0 lpa). At most 3-4 companies arrives in the campus for placements. Rest you have to go for off campus. Companies like TCS, Wipro , Appirio, App perfect ,meta cubes gives placements to this institute which is not upto the mark for a student's expectations.
College Events
Apart from college fest no cultural events are organised in the college. The fest that happens are mediocre and last for 3 days. The college does not hold any inter college fest. It is good in cultural fest but in technical fest if gets strangled s in the web of traditional technical events and thus gets lagged behind.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I was admitted into TFWS scheme. Thus, i had to pay Rs 11000 in a year. Other students had to pay 60,000 per semester. Thus it is neither too expensive nor cheap. Under TFWS 2 students who topped in each branch at the time of admission, are waived off from the fees. Also , if you topped in a given year ,then you are awarded with a reward of Rs 2500.
Fees and Financial Aid
I took RPET Rajasthan Pre Engineering test in 2011 and secured 1100 rank and got admitted in Computer science and engineering (CSE). So I was waived of from the tuition fees as I was among the top 2 students in computer Science. Category scholarships are also provide and can be consulted at college level.
Campus Life
Gender ratio in college is 6:4(male: female). The campus life is good as it is a large campus equipped with sports complex which is well maintained and developed. There is a basketball ,volleyball, tennis, badminton court. Also tournaments are organised at distric, college and state levels.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities were average but the food and it's quality was really pathetic. There are 5 hostels with both single and double occupancy. The rooms are average and toilets are cleaned on weekly basis. The hostels are equipped with wi-fi. There are also common rooms for watching TV and playing table tennis.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is semester wise. In every 6 months you will have semester. Therefore, in overall course of engineering of 4 years, you will have to appear for 8 semesters. Also , in every semester you will have a 20 marks mid term whose marks will add up in your semester examination.
Admission
I took RPET Rajasthan Pre Engineering test in 2011 and secured 1100 rank and got admitted in Computer science and engineering (CSE).But now the process has been changed and Is updated with the new curriculum.so please do follow that. The exam had 120 questions with no negative marking.
Faculty
In terms of computer science and engineering, other than 2-3 faculties, no faculty is good enough to teach. Head of department and other senior faculty are quite good. Better follow online materials and books in order to gain knowledge and understanding of the topic. One cannot completely depend on faculty here, in order to complete the course.
