Remarks
I applied to Mount Carmel College for my graduation. The admission process was quick and easy. I got direct admission in this college without any quota. The application process was quite simple as we had to wait for the cut-offs after filling the application form online. The cut-off list would be declared for all the students and then admissions would take place according to the lists.
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about this course, I had an equal interest in English and Psychology and wanted a course that included both. The faculty was super active and we had highly qualified teachers. They were always ready to help their students and address their problems. The semester exams were held twice a year and the difficulty level was moderate.
Internships Opportunities
I don't have much to say about internship oppurtunities as there was hardly any internship provided to us by our college. Very few students could get internships from college and the rest had to look for it offline. But yes if you are constantly in touch with the faculty and if you need any help from them then you will be assisted in the best way possible.
Placement Experience
Placements start in the 5th semester. The college provides ample oppurtunities for students to bag a good job with a good package. Although the package for our course was low as not many companies opted for students from an art background, it would range from 3-4 lakhs per annum. Not a lot of students went for placements as mostly opted for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees were very minimal and wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket. It was very affordable and there were various scholarships offered to students. There was no fees hike in my three years at MCC. The placements are fairly good and one can bag good oppurtunities here.
Campus Life
Mount Carmel is one of the most active colleges when it comes to extracurricular activities. Be it fashion or be it sports or any academic activity it's always on point. Cul-ah is the annual fest organized where students from all backgrounds showcase their talent. We have a huge library with a wide variety of books for the students who can access them whenever they want to. Also, there are a number of clubs where the students can join in.
Interview Experience
There was no GD round as such as the admissions were based on the cut-off list. Although we had an introduction round with the faculty. You don't have to prepare for an interview or group discussion. Sometimes seats get over so it's like a first come first serve basis.
