DIPEN DESAI's Review On Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli

No entrance exam was needed to get admission in this university. I scored 71% in my 12th science examination and my guj Cat score was around 60.

The course structure was pretty good according to me. It consider all the parts of my field and provided some practical knowledge as well. They took us to some industrial visits as well which added some insight to industry. Also, they provided enough focus on practical knowledge through labs and some home works.

Well, college does not provide a 100% internship opportunity but they do help us get one. So, they will always try to help us out with the internship and the stipend might be zero in some cases.

During my time the college was under development and mechanical engineering started with my batch so there wasn't so many opportunities for job. So, we have to look for a job. We couldn't relay on college. Though they were making some effort to get some companies in but for my branch it was almost zero.

Almost, every single event was celebrated in our college. Annual function, fresher-sh party, garba, Holi, robotics events and so many more. They were organised in college and we got a pretty good support for those event. Robotics event were a huge thing in our college.

Fees were around 6 lakhs in total and we have to pay some fixed amount every semester. They were pretty strict in this. If you get late you will have to pay penalties. Also, they did provide some subsidies to those in need. For me it was not too expensive considering the college facilities and education that they are providing.

As far as i know there were no scholarship or loan facilities available during my time. You can always get a student loan from government banks.

The college life was really good. We had so much fun and made so many friends. The gender ratio of the college was almost equal. College does have a gym, cricket ground. They do arrange some events over their so you can take part in it. They also arrange inter college debates and some seminars to improve knowledge of students on different subjects.

I never got a chance to live in a hostel as they did have a bus service from surat, navsari and valsad. But from what i heard the college hostel was okay and the food wasn't too good. Many of my classmates were living off campus in bardoli in some private house.

Alumni network is pretty bad. So, far we had only one event that too was combined with the freshers party.

Exam structure contains 4 exams. One is weekly test, then there were two mid terms and then final exams. For weekly test and mid term we never got a preparation leave so we have to prepare everything while we attend college. And for final exam we did get a month or so to prepare.

The faculty was pretty helpful. They helped every single student who really wanted to study. Also, our HOD helped me to get an internship at essar steel. This made a huge impact on my resume. Other faculty members were always ready to help when ever we needed some help with the course.
