I had taken almost all near to 13 competitive exams during my intermediate 2nd year. I had chosen VIT after getting all my results and visiting all other colleges where I am eligible for getting an admission. After looking at the campus from outside itself, I got an inner feeling from my heart saying that 'I should study in this college at any cost'. That's why I had chosen to study there at VIT University.
Course Curriculum Overview
We already have a curriculum planned for every year. This would be done by the respective deans and managers of the branch. For every four years, this curriculum undergoes a complete change in order to make the student fit as per the industry standard requirements. Our college has this special additional feature called the FFCS or Fully Flexible Credit System.
Internships Opportunities
Internships can be applied starting from the third year i.e. after the completion of the second year onwards. A letter needs to be taken from the Head of the Department stating to allow the student to apply for an internship. Our faculty may help the students to get an internship through his/her contacts but the college is no way responsible for mandatory internships to a student.
Placement Experience
The placement activities are one of the top most features of our college. Every year hundreds of campus hire students from different fields. For every student, IT jobs are basic provision by our college. Slot 1 is occupied by Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant and TCS. Slot 2 is occupied by Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, HCL etc.
College Events
Our college has 2 big tech fests conducted each and every year. Gravitas, Rivera. Gravitas is a kind of technology festival conducted in the month of August. It contains all the showcase of different projects. Papers and Conferences would be conducted and students are invited from all over India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is the only thing which has become a con for VIT University. The fee had risen in an exponential manner from our starting year of course till the ending year. Year on Year the tuition fee had an increase of 30 thousand rupees. During 2012 the tuition fee was 1,10,000. By 2016 it has almost reached 2,70,000. Also, the arrear fee is 1000/- per subject and the re-registration of a failed course is around 8000-10000 rupees.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is very good at our college. This completely depends on the type of course and branch. For Example, CSE students have a dominance of girls than boys. In the case of MECH, the reverse is the case. Overall the gender ratio of boys and girls is good enough to maintain good relationships. There is no gender bias in our college. Girls and Boys have equal importance.
Hostel Facilities
Boys and Girls had separate hostels. The number of hostels for boys alone is around 15. Hostels are really neat and are maintained very clean. The bathroom has got good mirrors, toilets and also the geysers. We had badminton courts inside each and every hostel. Mess food depends on the type chosen We are having - Veg, Non-Veg and Special kind of meals.
Alumni/Alumna
All the alumni of the college have a separate email where we can find and chat with many of our other seniors and juniors.
Exam Structure
Once a course is registered, every course has marks from 0-100 upon which grades will be awarded relatively with class performance. These grades will be used for calculation of GPA. We have 2 mid-term exams named as CAT (Continous Assessment Tests). Every subject needs to be studied for a period of 5 months. CAT 1 (15 marks weight age)would be conducted after first 1.5 months.
