Entrance Preview
NIFT have their own entrance examination, basically first test consist of two parts, i.e., CAT(creative ability test) and GAT (general ability test). i do not exactly remember how much i scored. I opted for kolkata centre since, it was close to my home and moreover the faculty here are really good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum i would say is pretty much hectic, it requires a lot of research work for each and every assignment, and lot of thought is put into, before executing the assignment. Course is easy to follow if you are regular, each subject serves it purpose of in being the course.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our college do provide us with internship, after third year students have to do a two month industrial internship. But since i am in my second year so i have no idea about the stipend.
College Events
NIFT spectrum is celebrated over the span of two days which is usually held in the month of feb, there many activities which takes place in the NIFT spectrum, and students actively participate in it. And other is nav utsav is also celebrated, teachers days and etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure i would honestly say that every year they are increasing a certain amount and its becoming expensive day by day, being a central govt. college its pretty much expensive. Academics of one year is near about 2 lac including hostel fee(excluding food expenses), overall for one year my expenses have reached above 3.5 lac. So, yes it expensive academically.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is only offered to the weaker section of the society by our college. Which i think is not fair. loan can be applied in certain banks but i am not sure which banks offer loan.
Admission
After my written examination, results were my end of march and after clearing that. I got selected for my situation test and after that by June i got my ranks and then came in counselling list it was like rank 1-250 counselling date 30th June and so on.
Faculty
Well, the college faculty is up to the mark and is very helpful, if i have any doubt regarding anything, i always run up them for clearing my doubts, whether is it regarding my assignment or end term jury. Apart from my department faculties, rest of the faculties are quite helpful. Like if i have a doubt in a pattern i also feel free to run up to any other department's pattern making faculty.
