IIT JODHPUR

Since the college was allotted by JoSAA, I didn't have to search for the college. For the general category, you just have to be above the cutoff marks in JEE Advanced and students with around 13000 rank in JEE ADV can get admitted into IIT JODHPUR. Admission process is very smooth as we don't have to think of it and everything was done by JoSAA.

I chose this course as it is a very good field for research students and the marks I got in JEE ADV didn't leave me much of a choice in other IITs. Student: faculty ratio is pretty good in our college. Currently, it is around 11:1 and it is one of the highest in premier institutes of India. They are well qualified and most of them have a very great experience. The teaching method they use is one of the best as their experience refine the students they teach. Term exams are now once a semester. And all the other evaluation is done on the basis of continuous evaluation.

Internship opportunities are one of the best in our college. Companies like DE SHAW, CODENATION, MICROSOFT offer a stipend of more than 1 Lakh Per Month in the SDE Profile. You can apply for internships even as a beginner.

Students are eligible for the placement from the 7th semester. Most of the students are placed within two months of the start o the placement season. Around 100 companies visit for placement and offer around 400 job offers to the students. In recent years, college is maintaining an average of 15.4 LPA and a highest of 62 LPA in the SDE profile. The placement percentage is more than 85% in our college. My plans are to get into a research university from abroad.

Fees structure is the same for all the IITs excluding accommodation fees. It is also not very different from other IITs. Also, there are a lot of scholarships for students to avail of financial assistance. I didn't get any kind of scolarships.

The cultural programs are one of the best and largest in North-West India. Our college conducts an annual fest IGNUS in the month of February which is a great event. The tech fest is INICIO which is held in the Last week of January and it is very interesting. Talking of books, Library is very large and a large number of books are available. If it is not available physically, we have access to an e-copy of the book. Classroom studies are very delightful as all the classes are air-conditioned and have very comfortable and perfect seatings. Every kind of sport and other activities are present and there is no foundation of timings to use the sports complex and grounds.

Hostel facility is the best among all IITs in India. All the rooms have individual air conditioners and every student is given his/her own separate room. Mess meal and quality are adequate and all of them are very good services. Hostel accommodation is registered during admission only and the accommodation fee is very low and affordable.
