Remarks
My name is Sumit Kumar Mahto. Currently, I am a first year student in BIT Sindri pursuing Information Technology. Here I will be guiding you about my college. I choose bit Sindri because it was nearby and provides excellent placements at low fees as compared to other government colleges. One has to give jee mains exam and apply for jcece counselling. One should get a rank under 1000 crl rank in jcece counselling to get Bit Sindri. Under 200 crl rank, you can get IT and under 150 crl rank, you can get CS. I have done my schooling from De Nobili School Bhuli which is an ICSE school till class 10th. Then I went to Chinmaya Vidyalaya to do my 12th taking Science there.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty here are highly qualified and many of them are from IITs and nits. Here you don't have to worry about your attendance. There are 8 semesters and exams here are not that hard( not that easy too). If you study well it is an easy task. In departments like mining student ratio is 49:1 or no girl but in CS, IT, it is good. I chose IT because it is popular nowadays so yes Here I am.
Internships Opportunities
As said Internship opportunities never come to an end and you get far more opportunities than compared to other colleges in Jharkhand except for IIT Ism and Nit Jamshedpur. Rest the college is very good and if you clear gate then it's not difficult to get job offers. If you get an internship in Tata steel it means you got a job in Tata steel if you perform well.
Placement Experience
Mining engineering students can get an internship from 3rd year but CS IT departments can put in efforts and can get internships early which are very helpful for Placements. Companies like Tata Steel provide internships to various branches through its Inspire Program taken by the company itself and a mining engineering student can get an internship at CSIR-CIMFR. If you put effort then taking a job is not that hard.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very affordable. Next to nil. It costs only 5000 approx per month of everything like Hostel mess tuition fees are included. Its tuition fee is around 14000 thousand per year. You don't need to worry about fees in this college. My scholarship is available such as e-Kalyan to tfw students around 20000 per year. And other many scholarships for branch toppers.
Campus Life
The name of the cultural fest here is BITAANSH. In 2019 a famous singer came to our college but I can't recall his name. I saw his video on YouTube. The library is renovated recently and the whole college is being renovated as it is a very old college since 1949 I guess. And coz of which it has a great alumni network. Here there are various groups with a different domains. Like Leo club, Arts club, Sports Club, etc. Yes, I agree that campus life here is not that great. Don't compare it to IITs or NITs
Hostel Facilities
Generally, hostels are 4 seated with 4 chairs and tables for first year students and if you are lucky they get a single seated room in the third year itself. The mess food is okay okay types as it is everywhere. Mostly every student stays in the hostel and very few stay out taking PGs which are easily accessible nearby. I suggest you visit the campus once.
