Remarks
I applied for JEE Advance but didn't qualify it but I performed well in JEE Mains due to which I get admission to BIT Sindri which is the only government college of Jharkhand. The state will release it's merit list after the declaration of jee mains results and there is a separate quote, I had applied from OBC. A student from other states can also take admission in this college. Criteria of this exam is that the candidate should have completed 12th with PCM with a minimum 75% and have qualified JEE Mains and age should be greater than 16 years old. After the declaration of merit list, you will be called for counseling where you have to fill the choices wisely and after that seat allotment takes place and then the dates of admission will be provided to students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this branch because this is one of the best branches of BIT Sindri, placement is highest in this branch approximately 90%. Faculties are good and they are well experienced. Faculty to students ratio is 1:7. All faculties are PhD Holders. The teaching method is good. This course is divided into 8 semesters and if you study well it is not difficult to pass the examinations.
Internships Opportunities
There are various competitions such as MOM, WOM in which internships are provided by the TATA Steel and PPO is also offered to those who performed well during the intenship. Apart from this there are various companies that provide internships.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for Campus placement from the 4th year other than that for internship we are eligible from the second and also for PPO. Here the placement is good especially for the Metallurgical Engineering branch. Various companies visit here such as delloite, TCS, Vedanta, HCL,etc. The highest package offered this year in 2020 is 10.92 lacs and the average package offered is 4-5 lacs which very good as compared to the investment made in the college by a student. Overall for this branch Metallurgical Engineering , 90% students got palced every year and overall for the whole batch it is 60- 65%. I am planning to work in TATA steel after that I will opt for civil services.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is the most important feature of BIT Sindri i.e. the fees structure, here the fees is very minimial as compared to other Engineering colleges in all over India where you can complete your 4 years BTech course in Rs.3 lacs, and let me tell this is the maximum amount I tell and this includes all the things academics, hostel, lodging, project and all. Yes, there are various kind of Scholarships available, firstly there is a Scholarship from Government of Jharkhand which is only for Jharkhand residents students, and there is Alumni network in this college which provides scholarship and various others.
Campus Life
Especially for this branch i.e. Metallurgical Engineering, there is a big fest called Dhatvika which is the famous event of this college and there are lots of clubs such as hackathon club, model club, arts club and various other clubs.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, is there is an option of a hostel facility and it is very good and it is very much affordable the yearly fees is Rs 7000 including electricity and management fees. The menu is very good there is option for veg as well as for non veg, food quality is very good here and the per month fees of mess is Rs.3000. After the admission you have to make payments for the hostel accomodation and bring those receipts to the hostel incharge and they will allot you hostel according to your branch and year.
