I also applied in Goenka College of Commerce but the cut-off was too high so my name didn't cane in the list. Then I applied to Umesh Chandra College my name came in the first list of General Quota . There is no such age requirement. There was a minimum cut-off percentage of 60% for admission. The admission process was simple. There was no such counseling day.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course to have good knowledge in the field of accounts so I could conduct audits. There is a good no of teachers in the college for managing the students. They are very well qualified and discuss each topic very nicely and make our concepts very clear regarding the topic. Some monthly exams were being taken to test our standards and there was an internal exam also held every six months. The exams were neither too tough nor easy.
Placement Experience
After semester four you get eligible for campus.Though not much but good companies visit the college for campus-like Bank of Baroda and PWC.They make a good no of offers with average package around Rs 5 lacs per annum.35-40% of students get placement from college campus. I am thinking of opening my audit firm after degree
Fees and Financial Aid
For students below poverty line fees consideration was being given on submitting of income details and applications from their parents.Minimal or no fees were being taken from such students.Also merit students were given scholarship to help them for much higher studies.College also offered a wide range of jobs in the campus being held in the college.
Campus Life
The annual fest is being conducted in December every year near Christmas. There is a wide range of books and journals available in our library. Although the classroom is old enough they are well maintained and sanitized keeping in mind the health of students. Though there are not many sports and extracurricular activities but cricket and table tennis tournament are held every year.Also, College has its own website for the ease of students.
