Remarks
The Admission process was not really complicated, you will have to get a good score in either 12th or your reet exam. Sometimes applying earlier for a branch will make you more likely to get that branch. I did not opt for any quota and I guess they don't consider quotas for admission. For branches like computer science, you can get it if you score somewhere near 80-85% or higher, but again, as I mentioned earlier, they sometimes also consider first come first serve, so if you apply earlier for the branch, you may get it even if you got 70%. For ece, you can get it near 65% or more. On the counseling day, they asked me which branch I want and asked for my scores. I wanted to go for itCS, but the seats were full and no one was accepted even if they got 90% or more in 12th.
Course Curriculum Overview
When I couldn't opt for cs, my second choice was ece which I did enough research, I think I opted for it because it's a diverse branch with many opportunities, plus I always liked designing electronics, and it includes enough programming as well. The faculty, I feel that some teachers are really great and some are just mediocre, they are quite well qualified and knowledgeable also, what matters is how well they teach, which I think, they are fulfilling that duty. Although there might be some exceptions as well because one of the teachers of my branch didn't clear the basics and jumped to the advanced thing, which I hated the most. But most teachers are just fine and they are quite helpful. Since this year we had covid, so the exams, i.e the midterms (MTTs) were online and 1 was offline. This year rtu canceled their 2nd sem exams because of covid so we were promoted to 3rd sem on the basis of how well we performed in sem 1 and sem 2.
Internships Opportunities
They offer many internships in the 3rd year, as I heard from some seniors of mine, they said that some internships are paid and some are not. You can get internships if you maintain a high GPA throughout the semester. Most internships are for cs students and some are for ece and ee. The internships are really helpful in making a nice job profile as the projects performed are really good and knowledgeable.
Placement Experience
Placements are good here as compared to other colleges of the same tier. They really focus on grooming the students for the placements, they have some placement series in which they focus on students' personalities and skills that may be useful to get the job. The number of companies visiting the campus are really high although the salary offered may be less, as most companies that visit the campus are related to it and cs. Students of other branches can also sit in the placements if they know good programming. The highest package this year was 10 LPA and the lowest for 3lpa. My plan is to maintain a high GPA and get the best placement possible.
Fees and Financial Aid
The overall fees for BTech in ece is somewhere near 3 lacs 80 thousand which I think is quite affordable. They don't have many opportunities for scholarships and other perks on the basis of academics, but they do offer some discount in fees if you deposit it earlier. Since I am 2nd-year student I never heard of any jobs with stiped inside the campus, I guess they are rare here, since it's a tier 3 college, but you may find one if you do proper research on it by asking teachers and coordinators.
Campus Life
The social life here is good, you can go out of campus during college hours and there are no restrictions on time. If you live in the hostel, then you have limited time to go out but I think it's more than enough. For girls I guess, you'll have to come to the hostel 1-2 hrs sooner maybe 7-8 pm as compared to boys. Sports events are being organized here as I myself have played for the cricket tournament in jecrc. There are many opportunities for pursuing your hobbies as they have enough clubs for it, they also have the startup cell which teaches students, the basics of startups from very scratch.
