ASCO KOLKATA takes admission of students of different merit levels with a scholarship feature. no such criteria like minimum marks or age had been put forward to the best of my knowledge, also the procedure of admission includes the submission of an admission form provided by them and the selected candidate is contacted thereafter and after these procedures, one needs to pay in the admission fees to book in their slot in amity university and no such provisions for counselling were done in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Journalism had always been a area of liking which led to my selection in the course. The faculty to student ratiio is also commendable as there are more or less 30 students for a teacher. The faculty although are highly qualified in their field of specialisation but the teaching method being undertaken by a few aren't quite up to the mark. The exams are held twice each sem with the end sem being in the MCQ format and also over online platform, making the chance to pass quite liquid.
Internships Opportunities
The university promises to provide internship to every students before their graduation and they also provides them to all students. Not all get in hands a paid internship and only a few are able to bag it and the various media houses like ndtv, aaj tak, abp news and the local news companies are amongst the top hirers.
Placement Experience
As being admitted during the time of pandemics, huge spikes in placements isn't visible although the college ensures 100 percent placement but i think its a hoax. The students performing average like about 6.5 cgpa are entitled to sit for the placement and media houses like ndtv, aaj tak are the companies to come as of my plan i intend to complete higher studies before sitting for a placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of studying at such a private university is always on a higher note compared to studying in other universities but the fees hike doesn't spike to a great extent considering the base fees. the college provided free education to all who lost a parent in covid 19 and also it provides a scholarship on admission based on the board's marks and the toppers of each class are entitled to a scholarship.
Campus Life
the campus facilities of amity are among the best in the nation with all top notch modern amenities like restaurants and cafes on campus the library is also huge and all students are provided with thousands of e journals besides providing free wifi to all students. The classrooms are loaded with smart class features and the campus is also fully air conditioned. amity is famous for its bunch of activities taking place over the years like AMIPHORIA, the biggest of all fest that takes place in March. amity is also famous for its sports event, the Sangathan, which is an intra amity sports competition.
