Remarks

In my area, George Group of Colleges have a reputation of being one of the good colleges so for counseling this was my first choice because it was nearest to my home which is affiliated with Calcutta University. The admission process was rather quick, I secured quite reasonable marks in my 12th and in the entrance exam thus I was admitted hassle-free.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for this course and at that time court life interested me tremendously. Its not college but rather school of LAW i.e. law is taught to the students as if they are learning for the first time. There were many experienced teachers who taught us not only law but other various lessons which shaped us to be better than ourselves. However very recently entire teaching faculty has changed and due to covid protocol, proper interaction with our teachers is very much lacking.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

The internship is only provided to the student who has attained a moderate mark in previous semester exams. However, a student is free to do an internship independently. The stipend is very poor, most of the time its null. But the task that is provided to us is a huge amount of writings and thus tiresome. Litigation internship is not provided to college fresher or any inexperienced graduates.

Fees and Financial Aid

My course fee is 1.75 lakhs which is divided into yearly quarters i.e. college demands fees on a gap of 3 months and on the failure of payment it charges us fine. As of scholarship none was available to me which courtsey of my caste and marks that I secured. However bank loans were available and with introduction of Student Credit Card scheme taking loan for education has became easy.

Campus Life

4.5

Fests such as summer fest are organized by senior most students. Farewell fest is organized by 4th year students and Nabin Baran is organized by college and 5th year students collectively. Libary is well equipped with course related books and our libarian is very helpful to provide us with book if that is not be available at the given point of time. Sports are also available in our college, rather there are inter college competetion of cricket and football each year. Our Club, Rotaract club of George school of law is newly formed and well know club, having highly active and enthusiastic members of our college. Activities and competitions such as debate, quiz, open mic, moot court etc are organized by our college once a year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'd say the BBA LLB curriculam si quite relevent and comprehensive. the blend of business management and legal studies really made me choose this course because it gives a holistic understanding of both fields. The curriculum is pretty practical and prepares us well for real- world applications like internships and moot courts and also sets a strong foundation dor further studies in law. In term of Imporvements i think the curruculum could benefit from more interactive workshops and practical training sessions and somtimes a bit more hands on experience and indusry exposure help bridge the gap between thoery and practice. Regarding exams, I find the frequency and timing are well balanced. the semester exams come at a good pace and whike some subjects can be challenging they are definately manageable with consisnent study.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my collage courses curriculum conduct by Calcutta university, every collage who affiliated with Calcutta university follow Calcutta university curriculum. I choosen BA LLB because in ba llb every semester you learn new law subject and they help you better understand because you have five year times you can learn every law subject very breifly way. I think the curriculum of my law subject is enough to prepare me for real world application because you read every law subject who is important for your real world experience that is the reason i choose this course. I think they need to change repetive topic in semester because of tenure of course i repeated few topic of my subject i think they need to change the few topic of subject they are so repeated. Every year two semester exam i give and semester season is june and December , in june semester exam student have very less time to prepare for exam i think this is a difficult for students for prepare exam in a short time.

As I am a student of BBA LLB. Tab management subjects makes a mess for me there are 7 subjects in management which I think doesn't have any applications in the real world and its like I heavy load to us in our curriculum but in speaking of the law subjects there are hard subjects but frequency in the timings of the classes make it very easy and allows us to perform well in the exams

Placement Experience:

My college has a 98% placement rate. As I'm in 2nd year, I haven't been placed yet, but as I look at my seniors, they are definitely well placed. The average package ranges from 3.5LPA - 3.8LPA. The highest package was 36LPA reported in 2024-2025.

Placement Experience:

Number of students who have been placed is far less than what it should be ideally. Kolkata is a paradise for law practice as it is the largest city of India and lawyers have always been in demand here. Still only 30% of the students are placed here and that's a big issue considering the name of our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main thing that I love about the curriculum is that we need to study in depth. Our syllabus contains most basic to really professional level stuff which really help us prepare for real life experiences and further academic pursuits. The only change i would like is more practical experiences that would be helpful.
