my experience with dav college

I applied to this college only because in Faridabad this is the best college so far. I am a gold medalist in kickboxing so I got the fees concession because this college is in the top 3 colleges which provide the best sports facilities in Haryana. the minimum marks for Bcom honours is 75% and above and the age should be 19 years old, you can fill the form online then wait for the merit list. on counselling day they told me the difference between courses that are good for me and which I can opt for. then afterwards on admission day they again suggested that being a sports person you can go for easier and beneficial courses. then after analysing everything I choose BCom honours.

I found this course the most suitable for me because it has good demand in corporate companies. We had 6 different teachers for 6 different subjects in every semester. There was never a shortage of teachers. All the teachers were highly educated and most of them were PhD. Term exams were on time after 4 months from the starting of the semester and it was a little difficult to pass them because you have to write 7 pages for each answer.

From the 5th semester students becomes eligible for the campus placements and companies start visiting the colleges. Last time Genpact visited this college and they selected 10 students only. This time due to covid no company visited our college. I have no idea about the package because we haven't got the chance to interact with them. Students with 70% and more are getting job placements but the more important thing than percentage is to have good knowledge about your course. After BCom honours now I am planning for the MBA but not from this college I want to pursue it from some famous college.

The cost of fees for each year is 30,000 rs in Bcom honours. I have no idea about any other scholarship but if you have medaled in sports then you can get a 50% fees concession in your fees and then if you participate in intercollege tournaments you will get a fees concession next year also. You will get 500rs back at then end of the course as you serurity deposit. I think this fee is affordable for all the students and they were able to pay it without any probmlem. In the 5th sem differnt companies like genpact, wipro etc visisted the college for campus recruitment.

There was no annual fest in this college or tech fest. the library was really good and all the books were available, anyone can issue any book. but students with less percentage in semester exams will not get more than 1 book at a time. Classrooms are clean and have smartboards where you can learn more. this college is in top 3 colleges in sports and they promote sports in college they sent students for intercollege tournaments, where students get great exposure and learn so many things. Also, students get the opportunity to participate in dance competitions, debates, poster making and many other competitions. there were elections in colleges and students were elected, also NSS and nsc teams were bsuy in doing different social rallies.
