Second term first hand review

I did apply for multiple colleges, particularly all the IIMs, did go through shortlisting process, and finally convinced IIM Amritsar, I did avail quota of SC category. Cat exam which is used to get admission I, no age limit, completed bachelor's degree with cutoff percentage/CGPA and respective score in CAT for different colleges. The process of counseling wasn't involved just shortlisting process if any could be provided by coaching institute or any such experienced entity.

I wanted to get into the management domain as i had a technical background and also wanted to expand my skillset and domain. With faculty to student ratio 1:10 the quality of teaching is really engaging and immersive with lots of real-world exposure by the experienced teachers, we follow a case study methodology. The exams were on time even early when compared to other colleges and as passing depends on a lot of factors and grading being relative it is relatively easy to pass as compared to the undergraduate course but let me tell you its vast

The summer internship is mandatory and is the responsibility of college, companies in different domains with different roles are brought in by the placement committee, even live project opportunities are there in all domains

Placements are almost 100 percent, average ctc being 12.6 and highest domestic ctc of 18.16. Students become eligible from 6th year but ppo oppurtunities are always there during your sip. After getting my MBA i would be continuing to work as a manager

Fees include term fees of 2.2 lac and mess fees 25k per semester. IIM Amritsar does provide scholarships based on factors like diversity and merit, various loans can be availed from banks for financial assistance. I'm in my first year and have yet to receive placement

We have an annual cultural and management fest namely AArunya and do have multiple academic fests and conclaves throughout the year around November.The library is equipped with different books on various domains and periodical magazines and journals, and as for the classrooms we do it from the temporary arrangement in PIT so they are small but equipped with ac and projectors with regular maintenance. Sports and extracurricular activities are regulars here and are taken care by respective committees,apart from these committees we have student-run academic and nonacademic bodies pertaining to administration and interests

It's a residential program so the hostel is the only norm that is included in term fees, mess provides breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Rooms are well furnished and bigger as we live in flats which are our temporary accomodation.

After shortlisting i went through just interview rounds as GDs were suspended due to ongoing pandemic, considering the fact that i'm a fresher the questions asked to me were about my internship, my subjects , GK and some of the management domain. In order to prepare for these rounds, i was helped by my coaching institute and some free online sources, and most importantly practice
