Remarks
I got admission through my Comed-k ranking in the EEE department. I opted for this college as one of my family members had passed from the same college. There are some criteria that will be required for getting admission into the college. You should have your class 10th and class 12th passing certificates, your AADHAAR card, school leaving certificate, behaviour certificate. Your Parents don't need to be with you. We alone can do the entire process if we have all the documents. Overall, the admission process was smooth and easy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted EEE (Electrical and electronics emgineering) in this collge for the duration of 2017-2021. I was intereedted in electrical department so thats why i opted for the branch. The faculties were highly skilled and too chill for a college professor. I had too much fun while studying. there will be two sections, each consisting of roughly 60 students with different teachers taking different subjects. Most of the teachers have Masters degree in their field and they will make sure that you understand all the subjects. You should be very much profient in english or you will have difficuly time in college. This College is affiliated to VTU. You will have 3 internal exams held every 1-1.5 months and at the end of your semester you will have your externals held through vtu. Overall, internals commulate to 40 marks and externals 60 marks, making a total of 100 marks. If you study consistently and seriously, you can easily pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities
You have to look for the internship by yourself. The college will provide only paid internship links for which you have to spend a minimum of 3-5k. The teachers will help you out in completing your projects.
Placement Experience
You will be eligible for placement in your 4th year (7th semester). Most of the companies which came offered 3.5-4.5 lpa ctc. Maximum of 10-12 companies came in college offering 5+ ctc and they came only for cse/ise branch. The placement has highly deteriorated mainly due to covid and placement management. We were not even given classes facing the interviews. We all have to learn that by ourself referring to youtube. Year by year, the placement is getting worse in this college. i have get placed through off campus. Around 70-80% of students get placed in my batch with the highest in cse/ise branch and the lowest in me/civil and out of this 70-80% around 20-30% got their placement through off campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I joined the college, my yearly fees was Rs. 170000 plus some extra minor charges but for the 2022 batch, it's been raised to nearly Rs. 250000. It's better to do the engineering from your state college or IIT/nit if you are from a medium earning family. Each year, the fees are hiked by around 5-10%. If you are a local of Karnataka you can get some scholarship but for other states people, there is no financial help. This year the placement is very bad due to covid and careless management of placement team and as it seems it's decreasing each year. Most of the companies will offer 3.5-4.5 LPA for freshers. I got placed off-campus
Campus Life
Overall I enjoyed the 2.5 years of my college life. Rest 1.5 years I spent at home due to lockdown. I made a lot of friends. There is an annual fest held in college named Kalanjali each year in October month but it's not happening for the past 2 years due to Covid. The fest is just ok not something entraining. Other colleges have way better fest than ours. Apart from that, there will be an Aadhaar fest from ECE and TE branches. Other branches have also 1 small fest held throughout the year. There is a common library and specific branch library for each department which have books of minimum 5-6 year old edition. You will only visit library for wifi, even that don't work sometimes. The college support for extra co-curricular activities is also very bad. I have been a part of my college Theatre group from 1st year and I only know hom many hardships we faced during our college days. Apart from the theatre group, there are clubs of coding, quiz, chess, taekwondo, dance and a NGO.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are cheaper when compared to other college hostels but you will have a very hard time surviving if you are from North India due to its food quality. There is a total of 5 hostel units out of which init 1 and 2 reserved for 1st year. overall the rooms are big and spacious. Regular sweeping will be done. But the food is very bad and for the past 1 year or so, the wifi is also not working. The hostel food menu will have a lot of things but most of them will be of very bad taste. You can opt for a hostel by filling out a form while taking admission. In my final year, I rented out a flat just behind the college hostel which was way much cheaper than living in the hostel.
Interview Experience
No, there was no GD. You can get admission directly based on your comedk marks or kcet marks (kcet valid only for local Karnataka people). Apart from that, you can get through the management quota by paying a hefty amount. You can previous year comedk question online easily and can prepare from that.
