Remarks
After completing my 12th, I wanted to do 5 years integrated Law degree. As there were fewer colleges for 5 yrs integrated law courses and this was the best college for law, I opted for it. I also applied for PGCL at vile parle which is also good. I have not availed any quota for admission but I got admitted after completing my first 2 years in PGCL and got transfer admission in 3rd year on merit. There is a reservation quota for the reserved category and for general its own merit and it goes anywhere between 75 to 90 percent marks in your 12th standard. The admission process was pretty simple, you have to fill the necessary college admission form, attach your mark sheets and relevant documents and submit it with the necessary fees for the first year in the college office.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I wanted to do law and as in this integrated 5 years course you study law right from the first year apart from other traditional 3 years law degree where you have to be graduated in any field first which is not in this case as you directly get admission after completing your 12th plus your 1 year is saved. There were 10 professors for each subject along with visiting professors along with special visiting professors. faculty student ratio is reasonable. In each class, there were around 50 students. Faculty were graduates in law plus visiting professors were practising law. There were semester exams half yearly, passing depends on your preparation in the subject. As the law in a theory, if you answer the questions putting all points on a particular law, you get good marks.
Internships Opportunities
Under internship roles are offered are as a junior advocate, Intern in law firms and corporates. Asian paints, law firms like ALMT legal, Amarcchand mangaldas, etc. offer good packages. You can work with corporates or law firms depending upon your liking.
Placement Experience
students become eligible for campus placements from after 4th year and when they are in last year various big law firms, as well as corporates, visit the college during placement week. The highest average package is anywhere around 12 lacs pa. students get placed depending upon merit and interviews. I have worked with law firms, corporates and now I am a practising professional.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for the first 3 years are around 5000 rs each year whereas last 2 years addition of 1 to 2 thousand is there. There is a dedicated placement committee in college where they add placement add in Feb and September every year for internship and job placement week for graduates.
