I had given UPTU but got admitted in this college based on my 12th percentage. My batch was the first batch of the university; this compelled me to take admission as i thought the placements would be good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was average. It was a little bit different from the state university curriculum. Marks distribution system was completely different as a lot was dependent on our internal exam. Out of 100, 40 marks was for attendance, assignments, class tests & presentation (project). 40 marks was for semester exams and 20 marks for mid term exams.
Internships Opportunities
During our time internship was not provided by the college. We have managed our self to get the internship in various companies such as BSNL, Doordarshan, etc.
Placement Experience
During our time this was the only issue and a major one where my college lacked behind. The placement were the worst. Out of 250 ECE students only 30-40 students got placed that too in an BPO company. Not a single MNC came for recruitment (HCL, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc. none of them came) and the ones that came they hired only 5-6. Same was the scenario for other branches as well.
College Events
This was the area where our college was the clear winner. Every year we used to have our grand cultural fest "Chorus" celebrated. It was used to be of 2-3 days. All the events from dancing to singing, modelling, acting, etc. used to be performed. And various Bollywood celebrities were used to called each year to perform at the fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I would like to say that the fees were expensive. Coming from a middle class background the fees of the university were quite high. During our time the fees was 1,41,000/- for the first year and afterwards it was 1,32,500 /- per year. While other colleges fees were 80000-100000/- affiliated to state universities.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, loan and scholarship facilities was available in our college. Loan facilities were available for the economically weaker students from PNB & OBC bank. While scholarship was available only in the first year based on your 12th percentage.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel and Mess facilities were outstanding. Boye and girls hostels were separate. There were 2 types of rooms- twin sharing and 3 sharing. International students were residing in separate hostel that was completely air conditioned and their choice of food provided to them. A menu was there proposed by the hostelers for having the type of food they want.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was completely different from state university (UPTU). A lot of importance was given to the internal marks. Out of 100, 40 marks was for attendance, assignments, class tests & presentation (project). 40 marks was for semester exams and 20 marks for mid term exams. An individual needed just 40 marks to pass that particular subject in the semester & with the help of mid term and internals.
Admission
First there was an online examination test for the scholarship and then there was an interview to decide which branch i should get and after that there was an interview conducted by foreigners to understand the personality trait of the student.
Faculty
The faculty was average. Certain subject faculty members were extremely good such as Micro controller, Digital Electronics, etc. Some faculty members were average. They used to come and give the lectures or the presentations and simply go. But some of them used to take active interest in teaching their subjects. So it was mix of good and average faculty members.
