Remarks

I applied to UPES Dehradun and the reason for not attending it was its high fees and couldn't afford it. For my college ADGITM, I had a Delhi student quota and I got admission in 14000 rank in the exam conducted by GGSIPU. The college has basic requirements of more than 50 percent marks in 12th. The admission process was on the basis of 3 cutoffs by the university which was held virtually on their site and later spot seat selection for the vacant seats held in the university physically. All the details including counselling had to be seen on the notice box of the GGSIPU site. After the 1st round of cutoff to remain in the selection process if or if not freezing the college seat the applicant has to pay 40000 Rs which are later refundable if one does not pursue college from university else it's added in the fees paid to the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because I loved physics so mechanical was the call and to stand out from the rest I finally decided to pursue mechanical and automation. The faculty is really good especially for mechanical they do not create unnecessary pressure on students very helpful in any form you can say related to study or signing a form or pitching some idea for research. The ratio of faculty: student would be around 1:16. The teachers are well qualified with good experiences, not all are PHDs, few passed from IITs, few completing their PhD. Their teaching method is not much different it's the same as it use to be in school all is that one has to do self-study. Teachers in colleges are more for assistance. The internals happens 2 times in a semester and for the externals, we have to go to a different college of GGSIPU at the end of the semester which is 6months. It was not difficult to pass all you have to practice last year's question paper.

Placement Experience

1.5

In the 7th semester, the students become eligible for campus placement. On a major for mechanical branch, there was sales company. Some companies were Capitalvia, extra marks, BYJUS, and more similar. Infosys comes as a mass recruiter for all branches. There were good offers made by the student but hardly joined by anyone. Most students search for jobs on their own. average package was around 3-4 lakh and highest was 12 by Byjus for sales. The percentage of students getting placed was 70%. My plan after getting a degree is to pursue masters from a college that could give me desired placement either in India or abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my time there was no hike in the fees, the cost of studying in GGSIPU is less as compared to other private colleges. Studying in GGSIPU is very affordable and the total cost to study including all expenses would be less than 5 lakh. There are no scholarships or financial assistance provided by the college all is that if you become a topper of the university they give a gold medal and a price amount of 5k or more. For my branch there was no company in the college I got placement in Infosys as an IT and different companies whose job profile was for sale. Maybe it was due to covid impact we didn't receive any mechanical core company. College does not provide any internship but training with fees that are compulsory. For mechanical we had training in AutoCAD, Solid Works, and Ansys which were basic levels.

Campus Life

3.5

We have a plus point of attending 2 annual fests one in the college and the other in the university they are conducted in March both are really great. The fest is at a small level conducted by the clubs in the college in March. The library is really good with all the necessary books and journals. The classroom is really spacious and had good ventilation. The seats and table were good and teachers had a stage and a podium for their lecture. No issue with lighting the classrooms had enough tube lights. There were around all the sports in the college and selection for university matches selection were done in the college. For extracurricular activities, there are different societies major are for dance and drama. Just like other colleges, they have similar social groups, clubs, and websites such as Enactus, for IEEE, Awaaz cultural society, etc, and all these are run by students.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

So placement cell is not present in college because of low intake of students but the students are very skilled to crack Gsoc , and other internship opportunities which lands them into big company. Also very good alumni network is present in college which boosts the placement of college.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
