Entrance Preview

Didn't have to take any entrance, it was based on the marks achieved in the Higher Secondary Examination

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum was vast. The first year included pass subjects only, the second and the third years consisted of Financial management, Cost accounting, Audit, Accountancy as major and other subjects like economics and Mathematics. There was a project at the end of the curriculum which helped us do some market surveys and research on what all we've learnt.

Internships Opportunities

No, my college doesn't provide any internship, at least not in my knowledge. So won't be able to comment.

College Events

4.5

Freshers' Welcome was a huge event organised by the college union. Everyone could participate. We also organised an inter-college fest. Saraswati puja was celebrated with grandeur. We also celebrated teachers' day, students' day, Tagore's birthday and others that I don't even remember.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee-structure is really flexible. It's only 100/- per month, which is like really cheap. We have a cheap book store where students can buy books at a cheaper rate! Under-priviledged students were given scholarships to study, and people could pay the fees later before the examination as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

I know of the cheap book store, and that SC/ST/OBC students used to get discounts for their respective courses.

Campus Life

3

It was amazing. The canteen was the place where we spent the most of our time. The dance rehearsals were my favourite. We won a couple of awards for our college at inter-college competitions, we participated in everything, from studies to politics - everything was there.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There's no hostel as such, only localities study there. PG's are available around the area. At a cost of 5000/- per month, you'll have a comfortable stay and nice bengali food. However, you have to share your accomodation with 2 others. Food outside is really cheap, and available abundantly. So that is not a point to worry about.

Alumni/Alumna

There are groups and pages on Facebook where the alumni members and the senior students help the newbies. One of them is Andews Rocks on Facebook.

Exam Structure

Exams were dependant on the university. They were really stressful, the exam time was hectic and they demanded full concentration and long hours of studies and practice. The exam time was bad, we couldn't enjoy our vacations, but the rest of the time it was fine.

Admission

I collected the form at a cost of 120/- Filled the for, attached copies of all my marksheets (duely attested), and submitted it at the college. There was a certain date when we had to check whether we were selected or not.

Faculty

3

The faculty is somewhat not impressive, apart from one. Mr. Anuttam Paul was the only faculty with immense knowledge and a great attitude. He was always very helpful and tried to impart knowledge in a very interesting manner to all his students. Rest were part time lecturers and I won't rate them a high.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
