Entrance Preview

I had applied for entrance exam into Uttar Pradesh engineering colleges that is centralised for all colleges in UP. I didn't score fairly good and was getting a seat into mechanical stream in govt college. But since my interest was into computer science so that made me look for good one in private colleges and that way I got into this.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Course curriculum was good but lot of emphasis was on theory especially for computer science stream. We got to know only 1 language that was C. Rest of subjects were mostly theoretical like compilers, OS that are also needed but considering the kind of work we had been doing since then makes use of little such knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

When I was part of it, it didn't provide internship. At least it was not known to me. If they started afterwards then I am not aware now.

Placement Experience

1.5

Job placement cell was indeed there and we could get some help from there. But during that time, almost no IT company had visited our college so we had to try ourselves. I heard after few years we passed out, placement cell could manage to bring few companies for campus interviews.

College Events

2.5

Fun fest and other cultural events were organised in our college. Those interested in activities can participate. It was fun to be part of such events. They were organised at large scale and college used to give funds generously. It used to last for 2-3 days and everyone used to have their share of fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was slightly expensive given the earnings of my father. But my father made sure that I am not defaulting on fee payments. I used to pay around 24000 annually as fee and around 18000 for mess charges for free seat. For paid seats it was much higher fee close to 60-70k.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship were not provided to anyone. Neither loans were provided by college management. There was flexibility to pay fees in instalments.

Campus Life

2

Campus life was good and it was sprawling. We had cricket and football ground behind college and I used to go and play everyday. There were football tournaments organised once a year. Badminton courts, TT tables were provided. Debates were organised to enhance GD capabilities.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel facilities were good we used to get 3 seater room each occupant having a bed, table, chair, table lamp and cupboard separately. Rooms were spacious. We were responsible for cleaning out rooms. Bathrooms and hygiene was good. We used to get 24/7 water supply.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes I got good support from my seniors. They initially helped me to apply for jobs after we passed out. I am still in contact with my other batchmates and seniors.

Exam Structure

Exams were hectic and we had to study a lot to score good marks. I remember studying whole night for subjects to score good marks. Questions were standard and anyone who had studied could manage to score good marks. Lab exams were chilled but project that we had submitted in last year was thoroughly examined by examiner.

Faculty

2

Faculty and staff were good and some of them were newcomers as well. Some of the staff had rich experience carrying practical exposure in industry and we could leverage from their experiences. Remember few names who could convey the concepts and was understood by us in simpler way.

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
