Remarks
Basically raipur is nearer to my hometown and there is no travel issue as there are daily trains to and fro. And NIT Raipur has Information Technology branch which is almost equal to computer science.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty:student ratio is 1:30 , Here faculty is highly qualified with PhD. Teaching method varies with respect to the faculty but most of them teach very well. The only problem is with the old curriculum but it's also sorted out from our juniors batch. Regarding exams there will be three exams per semester two exams are conducted out of 15 marks called as class tests and the last one is end semester exam which is conducted for 70 marks . These three exams are compulsory and comprises of total 100 marks and additional 20 marks are awarded by Professors based on the attendance and discipline. The minimum marks to pass in exams is 42 out of 120 but one should get minimum 25 out of 70 in end semester exam in order to pass in that particular subject. It's not difficult to pass in our exams if we follow classes thoroughly we can easily expect 9 out 10 GPA but if you aim for 7 points one night before exam is sufficient.
Placement Experience
From 7 th semester onwards the students are allowed to sit for placements for various full time roles. And from 5 th semester onwards the students are allowed to sit for internships. There are many good companies visited our campus some of them are Amazon, Samsung,Adobe,D. E Shaw,Dboi, optum, GE, Avalara, Arcesium, Avalara etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is based on the income of the parents. For parents of students whose yearly income is more than 5 lakhs they need pay 131000 and for those whose income is between one lakh to 5 lakhs they need to pay 52000 and the full tution fee is waived for the students whose income is less than one lakh. The campus placements are good and also improving year by year.
Campus Life
The campus is small as compared to other nits and iits but there are regular clubs that are comprised of one faculty member and a group of students which will organise many events at campus . Infrastructure of the campus is good but the only problem is there is only one main building in which all branches are located and each branch is allocated one portion of a particular floor. And the faculty cabins are so small. Due to which we face problems of standing in queues for long time in the time of viva for lab exams.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are nice but the only problem is they are limited. So everyone can't get in to the hostel. Only merit students with high cpi are given accomodation in hostels. The hostels are nice with large and spacious rooms and also there are other facilities like continuous water supply no power cuts and free wifi.
Admission
No but we need to clear Jee Mains examination. There won't be any interview or group discussion for the admission. The only way to get admission for btech programs is to clear the JEE MAINS exam.
