Remarks
I couldn't make it through the premiere Tier-1 institutes as my rank in JEE was not very high but in JCECE exam, My CML rank was good enough to get me admission at BIT SINDRI and this is the best institute under Jharkhand Government and the atmosphere of this college was also way better than all the remaining private and state govt. colleges of Jharkhand, so I preferred this college and also because I was getting my preferred branch.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering as my course.The faculty here is very experienced almost all have done their Ph.D. or M.Tech. from IITs and have a very vast and in-depth knowledge in their specific domains.The sex ratio of the students in my branch is approximately 1:4(girls:boys).The teaching methods is mainly classroom teaching using smart-boards and there are labs for almost every practical subject and the faculties teach some additional skills which would be helpful in our domain in the future like MATLAB, SIMULINK,etc.The exams are a bit late always but that's a problem of the University we are affiliated to and nothing to do with the institute.The exams were on a scale of moderate to difficult level but you can easily score high if you are grasping the root concepts and can connect from one topic to the another.
Internships Opportunities
No companies specifically come in our college for Internship Drives but there are referrals which can be provided to companies if you have a good connection with the people working there or TPOs.The internship platforms like Internshala also help a lot in finding internships (both paid and unpaid).The projects would specifically be given according to the role you would be hired for in the project.
Placement Experience
Companies start recruiting students from the 7th semester generally (Sometimes 6th semester students are also considered.)A variety of companies come and give offers like TATA Steel, TCS Digital, Infosys, Schlumberger, Infosys, Capgemini, Accenture, Vedanta, TATA Power and many others whose name I can't recall.The highest package goes around 15 Lakhs and the average is around 5 Lakhs.Almost 90% of students get placed in my branch and speaking about the overall scenario it would be around 55-60% also because many want to pursue higher education.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is the best as it has the most nominal amount of fees even for the General category students and for the reserved categories and girls it is even lesser.There are many scholarship providers here like E-kalyan(Govt. Aided Scheme), BITSAA(Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri Alumni Association) and many private firms also provide scholarship.The campus internships are good, Our institute has tied up with many platforms like Internshala and a vast majority of students grasp a paid internship in respectable companies.
Campus Life
Our Annual fest is named Artotsav and it is held by the Arts Club.The Tech Fest is named Sandhaan and it is held by Model Club, IETE & ISTE combined.The library is flooded with books of all types whether it is from your engineering studies to higher studies to journals to research papers to fictions, the list will never end.The classrooms are well structured and are indeed smart classrooms.There is a college ground in here which is flooded in the evening with all the students and all kinds of sports ranging from cricket to football to volleyball to basketball to Table Tennis, etc.There are many clubs apart from the ones listed above like Gandhi Rachnatmak Samiti, Eco Club, Prayaas India(NGO), SAE India, SME, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels were not too good back in the time but now things have improved significantly and proper care is given to the Amenities and Cleanliness of the Rooms and Bathrooms.The meal quality is kind of average and you can alter the menu by yourself after discussion with the mess incharges.The hostel and mess charges are combined they cost around 30000 per year combined !
Admission
We didn't have to go through any Group Discussion or Interview.We just had to write the Written Test and the JCECE exams from the past 2 years are not being held and the rank list of the JEE exam is only being considered and hence preparing for JEE would help you get through this college.
