Great placements + Amazing faulty + Located in the business capital of India- MUMBAI + Great reviews + Amazing Crowd. I relied on reviews from people on LinkedIn and quora. The admission process involved a home based protocored exam called NPAT, which involves English, maths and logical reasoning.
Course Curriculum Overview
In class 12th, I wanted to switch from science to commerce and what could have been a better course than B.Sc. (Finance), for it was a B.Sc. degree and I thought that it must be tailor made to the needs of science students. The facilities were all Ph.D. holders, but this does not mean that they were good at teaching. Some teachers were really good, but some were just unbearable. P.S. The dean severely needs a therapist. The teaching method was theoretical, which is obvious because it's a finance course. But again, teachers were just trying to finish the syllabus, not caring about whether the students are understanding a concept or not. The term exams were easy, for they were online. Hence, it was easier to cheat. (Every single student of our class cheated for they did not understand a thing during classes)
Placement Experience
The average package offered for finance course is 6,66,667, which is obviously an inflated figure. 60% of the students at bsc finance get placed. Out of them, only a handful take the placement offered. The rest either look for off campus placements or go for higher masters degree. In short, if you get a degree from NMIMS or Delhi University or Christ Banglore or similar colleges, you'll definitely get placed- on campus or off campus. Plus, your salary will increase with experience.
Campus Life
This is something I can applaud NMIMS for. The campus life is great. There are so many clubs and each club is extremely welcoming. The seniors are nice and warm. The friends you'll get at NMIMS- you won't get those friends anywhere else.
Admission
No. There was no GD, interview or written test. Selection was purely on basis of entrance exams, nothing else. I had joined a coaching AceIPM to prepare for the entrance exam.
