Entrance Preview
The college comes under the Jharkhand government. The name of entrance exam is jharkhand combined entrance competitive examination (JCECE). My score in the year 2007 was 444 and I opted this college because it is one of the oldest (founded in 1949) government college with a better placement and infrastructure.
Internships Opportunities
No, my college does not provide internship. As there are limited resources and lack of fund, so faculty do their research works by his own and his students. This is the reason they don't require external interns.
Placement Experience
It is surprising that the job opportunity and placement are above our expectations. Approx 70 % of students get placed with an average salary of 3.5 lakh. BIT Sindri comes first in India for placement with respect to investment and return ratio, means that there is less investment in studies and have higher package.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible. Fee includes the tuition fee and the hostel fee. It may have increased slightly now but at my time it was total of 15000 /- INR for one semester. 8000 /- INR as education and exam fees and 4000 /- INR for hostel and 3000 /- INR as electricity bill.
Fees and Financial Aid
Welfare department Government of Jharkhand provides scholarship to the ST, SC, OBC and minority community category students every year, for which college use to release the notification for application. I never understand on what basis they give the amount. In some cases the amount of scholarship remain more than the fee paid by student. There is an SBI bank inside the campus which provides educational loan.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are old with poor conditions of toilets. Number of hostels also are not adequate. In first and second year four seater room is provided. In third year two seater room is given but in final year everyone get single room. There are ward servant for each wings. These ward servants take care of cleanliness of room as well as drinking water for the students. Food quality is not much good.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a strong alumni network. Alumni from BIT Sindri are all over the world. They have alumni association chapter with the name of place. Some of alumni are renowned personality of business, industry or technology. Dr. Inder Singh Namdhari of thenm in India. Neil Pandit is one in USA.
Exam Structure
There is semester system. So there is two mid semester examinations (of marks 20 each)and one end semester examination. (marks 50). 10 marks is there for attendance and class test if any. Class depends on instructor to instructor. The syllabus for examination remain same what is taught in the class room.
Admission
For the admission one need to fill the entrance examination form. The name of the examination is jharkhand combined entrance competitive examination (JCECE) which is conducted by jharkhand combined entrance competitive examination board (JCECEB). The notification is released in the month of February each year. Till March they conduct examination and till may results are declared.
Faculty
Faculties are well qualified with Masters and PhD. However number of faculties is not adequate. In the recent report of college It is found that 75 % of faculty posts are vacant. Jharkhand government has recently published the notification for recruitment and hopefully the faculty posts will be full filled.
