VNIT Review - Excellent for study, average for placements

VNIT is situated in Nagpur, which is full of core industries. So it is better to find internships and jobs for core students. Admission process is simple. CCMT is the portal where you register and upload details of GATE score and fill up the college preferences. Then cap rounds are held and seats are allotted.

I am doing MTech CadCam. There are 22 students in my class and we have 15 teachers for my MTech specialization in VNIT. So the faculty : student ratio is very good. All the professors hold PhDs from reputed and old IITs and have a good industry experience too. Exams are conducted online since last 1.5 years and they are of moderate level.

Every year there is up trend in number of companies visiting campus. Around 150 companies can be expected. TnP office has started taking training on basic coding skills, interview skills, group discussion. BTech placements are excellent. Roles like GET are more common. MTech placements are very low. Only few companies allow Mtech students to sit for placements.

First year M.Tech fee is 93600 and then 40350 for 3rd and 4th semester. If you have a valid GATE score, you are eligible for a 12400 stipend. The stipend is directly put into bank account every month.

VNIT has a big 215 acres green campus with all the facilities a student can possibly imagine. Many student activities such as AXIS, Consortium organized by E-Cell, and small events take place all the time. Since college is online from last year, digital books are made available from library, we can also access journals and research papers. There are also many active clubs and groups. IvLabs is a robotics club.

Admission to MTech is purely based on student's GATE score. There is no group discussion or interview. However, if someone applies for a PhD the he/she has to appear for a written test followed by an interview.
