Scope of Information Science and Telecommunication

The admission process of the university is conducted after shortlisting candidates according to their marks obtained in 10+2 or Equivalent Course. The basic eligibility criteria of this course are 50% overall in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 or Equivalent Course. Mathematics is compulsory for this course. Candidates from Diploma are also eligible for the admission process. After getting shortlisted, the candidates are invited for the admission and counselling process where they need to provide marksheet for 10th, 12th, Migration Certificate and Conduct Certificate. Students need to pay 30000 as course fee and 1200 for examination fees for first year examination. The payment must be done through a demand draft. After verifying all the documents they will assign a unique enrollment number that will be used throughout the course and they will initiate further processing for college ID and Library card. Once done we need to choose elective which we want to choose on 1st year.

This course is one of the key courses where a candidate can have scope in both Electronic and IT background based on his/her area of interest. This provides a lot of technical knowledge with hands on experience to understand the implementation of the course in real time systems. One faculty is assigned to whole 128 students. Faculty members are highly qualified and explain each and everything with real world examples. They implement all the theoretical subjects which are covered in the classroom in practical classes. Exams are two types Mid Semester and End Semester exams. Mid Semester is conducted between 2-3 months are starting the semester(Sept and Feb]. End semester is conducted after completion of course in particular semester[Dec and May]. Passing an exam is not a difficult task that needs concentration and consistency to clear the examination.

Students who are pursuing the 5th & 6th semesters are eligible for campus placements. Companied like Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Wipro, Mindtree, Drubus Technology, ESSPL, Federal Bank, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Mindfire Software Solution visits university to hire candidates. 5 offers made by me out of these big names. The highest package provided is around 4.25LPA and the average package stay somewhere around 2.2LPA to 2.5LPA. Generally, a Software Trainee profile is provided which varies from company to company depending upon the role. Around 70% of candidates easily get placed in MNCs provided they should meet basic eligibility criteria for campus placement which are around 60% throughout their career. I am planning to join the MNCs to which I am currently placed.

The fees Structure is pretty high as compared to other departments in this university as this course is marked as self financing course. Financial Assistance is provided to the student who joins with quota (SC/ST]. India's biggest MNCs are reporting universities to hire students from universities in their final year of study. Companies like Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, Capgemini hire a lot of candidates from this university. Monthly stipend/salary range between 10-18k per month.

Fresher fest and Farewell are conducted by the student of the university every year. University is having Kanika library which is the state's largest library with great infrastructure and is fully air conditioned. Department is also having its respective library where student can borrow their books for semester examinations. There are so many extracurricular activities and National sports tournaments are conducted inside universities where people across this country arrive here to represent their state. There is a lot of student council and social groups are present such as NSS, NCC. Scouting and many more.
