Remarks

I chose this college over others because I was not able to clear JEE mains exam and didn't got any college outside Jammu so I decided to go for JKCET and do my engineering in my own city. And the another reason was the faculty of MIET Jammu. Specially in my CSE department the professors are excellent and highly qualified. They will do everything to provide the best things to their students. Students should also try to give the best if the professors are working on for their betterment of the future. Here, only one who strive for success or is ready to face any challenge and want to keep learning and grow with time can achieve best things in his/her life. In this college if anyone tries to underestimate his/her skills or if the person will not make sufficient efforts to learn something new then he/she will not be successful and end up just complaining about the college. The bad aspect of this college is that you will not get too much like minded students. In my batch there are very less number of students who are serious about their career. But it's all about time. They might get awakened one day and work on for the betterment of their future. Another thing is that the placements are not so good. The highest package offered in 2021 was 13 LPA and only service based companies like-TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc visit for campus placements.Lastly I want to say that if anyone want to do CSE from Jammu after giving the JKCET examination then this college is best because after completing the engineering the college will assist you for higher studies and you can go for higher studies in US or any other country or even prepare for GATE to get job in PSU or do M-TECH/M.S from IIT/NIT or IISC or any other top college of India. It all depends upon you want you want to do in your life.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose CSE because of my interest in the field of technology and computers from my childhood. The faculty is highly qualified and many are PHD'S from IIT BHU, NIT Hamirpur and many were BTECH+MTech graduates from BITS Pilani, NIT and IIIT etc. The teaching method of the professors is very much practical. They explain each and everything in such a great way that even if the person is not interested in CS then he/she will get interested and will fall in love with computer science. If I would talk about the exams, the exams are conducted on the time even in online mode through proctor software. There are mid sem, end sem exam and final exam every semester. And lot of assignments and projects are given to test the knowledge of students. The difficulty level of exams is of medium level. If one has studied properly then only he/she can obtain good marks.

Internships Opportunities

5

I have opted many internship in my 1st year and they were not provided by the college as I have applied on the companies job portal. I am currently working with Blisseng as Moderation and Outreach Intern and Shine Projects as a Marketing Intern. They are providing stipend but I work there for free. Our college also provides internship opportunities for CSE department students in good companies. But for that one should first try to built it's great base of knowledge on any technology for which you are going to apply and will work as an intern.

Placement Experience

1.5

The pre-final year students or the final year students can appear for the campus placement drives. In the year 2021 about 150+ students got placed and the highest package offered was 13 LPA and average package was 5 LPA. Only service based companies like-TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc visited for the campus placements. The placement opportunities are very less but if the student try hard and do his/her best then that person can even crack off-campus placements in companies like Amazon and Microsoft with package of 30+ LPA. But for that, one should prepare the resume in such a way that the recruiter will get impressed by your genuine work and achievements and you stand out from the crowd. Nowadays, to increase the employability rate of students in different companies our college has partnered with AON solutions and an assessment is done through their cocubes test. This exam tests a person on all the aspects like-Reasoning,Analytics,Coding,English etc and the score which a person obtains in this test will help them in getting opportunity to get interviewed in top companies like- Google, Amazon etc after getting shortlisted, and the package offered is very high. After my graduation I have planned to go for higher studies in top IIT's and IISC after appearing for gate exam. But I will also appear for all the job opportunities to check my skills during the graduation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are very much affordable as compared to other private engineering colleges. Providing best things for four years for just 3 lakh rupees is very much impressive. The college also provides Sh HL Gupta scholarship for boys and Smt Shanti Gupta for girls if they excel in the academics.

Campus Life

5

Everything is great at the campus and experience is very amazing. There are many clubs and societies run by the students like the famous one is google developer student club. Our college organizes Jammu Kashmir?Ûªs biggest techno-cultural fest SAMMILAN. It is the most popular youth fest in Jammu and Kashmir. Students from all over the state and adjoining north states come and actively participate in our fest. In the college you can participate in various volunteering activities by NSS and contribute for the betterment of the society.

Admission

There is no such group discussion or interview for admission at MIET Jammu but at the time of counselling JKBOPEE members will ask you for the preferences of colleges and nothing more than that.
