Good Lecturers and Good Placement

Pro's : Good infrastructure. Almost all Faculty members have masters from reputed collages. Good Placements. Con's: Quality of students ( many localities who are troublemakers).

I had taken AIEEE had got 88, 675 rank and i opted for sharda university as for that rank this was one of the collages near delhi which would give me admission.

Good . It had lot of flexibility meaning there were electives every semester after 2nd semester covering many domains. We had AI domain, networking domain, mobile development, data warehousing we had to choose one domain at the beginning of 3rd sem and from that domain we would get two subjects out of which we had to choose 1. Apart from this we always had 2 law/business subjects like business law, business communication, cyber law etc. Subjects from Software development domain was compulsory and not electives were given and had 3 subjects each sem (after 2nd sem) from this domain.

University has data entry jobs in during summer holidays as it is admission time for them. They pay 4k per month. Apart from this i am not aware of any internship within the university but the university have tie ups with good companies who provide internship. There was one MNC that hired 100 students after 6th sem as interns ( i forgot the name, but it is a good mid -size MNC as far as i remember)

Excellant placements opportunities. I sat for the first two companies (Tech M and CTS) got placed in both after that i was not allowed but many companies came for placement like tech m, CTS, emphasis, NTT data, HCL, One97 (for BPO but later those people got technical jobs) etc. almost 90% of eligible students were placed. Students who did not even know basics of programming got placed. Since ours was the 2nd batch and the first to receive such placement opportunities our seniors were not that lucky and our juniors i guess also got many job opportunities as our batch did well during interviews and performance i guess.

There are many events that are conducted through the year. Each department had many events. Since i belong to CS department i can tell you the events we had. 1) Hackathon's yearly once - we had to present some project on new technology 2) Code jammers / code hunt - treasure hunt by cracking code 3) Tech talk by Techies and Faculty. Apart from this there would be sporing events troughout the year. Then there is Annual Fest which is the best event . Many celebrities from bollywood like sonu nigam,arjit singh,hard core, sonam kapoor, rajat kapoor, imtiaz ali, ran vijay, raghu, bani, sonakshi sinha etc have come and performed during annual fest.

To a certain extant it is feasible considering the infrastructure provided. We have wifi enabled campus. AC's in classroom. AV set in class rooms. Taking the infrastructure into account and also the quality of the faculty as it had many Foreign Faculty and many Faculty who had degree from Foreign universities hence they had to have good salary or else they can not afford such faculty

During my time free education was provided to stuents with family income of 1Lakh and peope with above 90% in 12th would get 50% scholarship and 70% for above 95% in 12th. No loans were provided during my time.

There is lot of diversity. Students from nigeria,afghanisthan, bhutan,singapore and souther and north-east india make up the student population apart from delhities and localities. We have three big ground for footbal,cricket,basketball etc. Every year during anual fest we had robo wars, youth UNSC debate's, live concert from bands like Blue ( from one love fame), hard core, sonunigam, arjith singh etc. Sharda's Annual Bash is the highlight of the year as stated earlier many celebrities many competition are held during this period . We even had our own version of Roadies called as "ROWDIES" and it would be judged by various winners of MTV Roadies like Bani, Ranvijay we even had Raghu for ROWDIES 1.0

Did not stay in Hostels or PG's. I had house in Delhi did up and down from there.

Since mine was the second batch we did not have any alumni to contact but we definitely had seniors who did give us a brief about the collage the very first day.

During my time we had 2 internals and one mid sem and one sem exam. The final score was calculate by giving 70% weightage to the internals and mid sem and 30% to final sem exam. For example if in internals i had marks 30 out of 40, 30 out of 40, 40 out of 60 and in final i got 50 out of 60 then the final score would be 70% of (100/140) and 30% of (50/60). So if you scored well in internals and didnt do well in final sem exam still there is a chance to get 8 GPA. But rules had changed for juniors which i am not aware.

I think you would be surprised o know that almost 90% of our faculty have masters and more than 30% have PHD's (excluding HOD's). All HOD's had PHD's. One more surpricig fact is that many faculty members had masters from Foreign universities hence hey brought along practices from those university into ours. This quality of faculty i believe is not available in most universities.We even had foreign faculty as well . We even had a professor who was a distant relative of Blue (one love fame) band member Simone webbe hence we had Sione during one of our annual fest.
