Remarks
My physics chemistry maths (PCM) was lower than 75%, which cut me off from most colleges. Smit requires 75% above in the total CBSE class 12 percentage, which was the main deciding factor. No quota is availed, and no minimum age is required. Admission was smooth, and there was sufficient guidance from all faculty.
Course Curriculum Overview
I enjoy programming, and hence, information technology was my target. Depending on the course, the faculty: student ratio differs. For it, the ratio is 1:4. The it faculty is really entertaining, and are well-versed in the subjects that they teach. Teaching methods were primarily blackboards and slide projectors, but due to covid-19 issues, online classes have been conducted. Exams are of adequate difficulty, always on-time and are online, and there are sufficient security measures taken to prevent malpractice.
Internships Opportunities
There are a good number of companies with internships. The exact roles offered greatly varies, but are still sufficiently appreciable and perfectly suit the roles of the every student of every branch.
Placement Experience
From the 8th semester onwards, students become eligible for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Dell, Amazon, etc have shown up for placements. I would appreciate a job after the degree, but I would also like to pursue higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly course fee is Rs 305000. The cost was acceptable. I did not require hostel fees and mess fees, as I was a day scholar. I had not taken any scholarship and did not receive financial assistance.
Campus Life
We have kaalrav, which is a 3 days techno-cultural fest conducted in march. The library is well packed with educational books. Classrooms are well lit and are ventilated. The college has ample sports facilities, both indoors and outdoors.
