Remarks
Studying B.Pharm at Bhagwan Mahavir College of Pharmacy. Right now I'm in the last year of my course, so I'd like to share my review of how it has been so far. At the time of selecting colleges, the first thing I looked at was the nearest college to my home because I do a job as well. After all, it was a correct decision. The admission was conducted through a competitive exams like GUJCET, in which an aspirant should have atleast 70 percentile. So I had got my admission through ACPC.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to become a Doctor but had not gotten good marks in the Competitive exam, so I decided to take B. Pharm which is also a professional course. Faculty in my college are having enough knowledge to teach their respective subjects. Also, friendly enough which makes the surrounding environment good to ask any question. Most of the faculties have done Ph.D., whereas some have done M.Pharm and their teaching level is also great. Every faculty has their own style to teach something in a better, effective, and easy way. In every 6 months, 4 times the exams are being conducted which is quite tough to crack as there is good supervision, and hard paper to crack to. I'd rate 8 on the scale of 10 to the paper toughness.
Internships Opportunities
I had done an internship in the Colourtex Company to which I would like to rate 8 out of 10. However, I didn't complete the internship because of personal problems I had to go to out of town. But I'll again visit the company for the same and complete the internship asap.
Placement Experience
Placements are being given in the last year of the course where the student has got the idea to work in a different environment. There are like 3-4 companies visited in the last year of our course out of which 2 companies hire a few students on the basis of knowledge and activities. The package company offers is 3 lac/year which is the highest this far. About 25% students have got placements where I was also selected but then deny to work as I don't feel good and package was also not up to the mark. My plan is quite simple, I'll study with working in a company, and after getting done with the course, Will go for higher studies like M. Pharm because I always love to learn.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure varies with the course. B. Pharm fees is 78k per year, and hostel fees is 20k per year, which overall makes 1 lac if someone comes from outside. However, there are many schemes provided by the Government to get the scholarship. One of them is PMY in which 50k is being provided by the Government in the bank account while rest has to be paid itself.
Campus Life
The annual fest is done 1 time in a year in the month of August where everyone gets together and enjoys the campus. As there are about 70 students in class, there has always been a shortage of books and some have to make with it by learning from Google or YouTube, or copying the books necessary for the exam. There are no amenities in the classroom except fans running over the head. I mean no air conditioner. However, there is a blackboard, enough benches to sit, etc. Sports like Cricket, volleyball, tennis, badminton are being played every year as a big programme. There is nothing like website and all as far as I know.
