Entrance Preview
I did my Bachelors in Statistics in PSG college of Arts and Science. This is one of the aided courses that is provided by this college. I come from a normal middle class family. I was not able to take up an engineering or medical course due to my financial position. I literally did not want to take up any other course. Then I got the admission card from PSG .
Course Curriculum Overview
There is no hard and strong rule. We have had excellent lecturers and professors who just walked in the class and started a topic which gets explained so well. We were given proper notes and a great deal of references to books. The course curriculum had all the important aspects and approaches which I use to this day ( I am a math and stat teacher now ).
Internships Opportunities
I am not so sure about the internships since my course was not much of a professional one. Yet I got placed in ICICI one source and RND soft.
Placement Experience
Placement is given by college It was about a 4 round selection process. They offered around 2-3 lacs CTC which was a good one for a fresher at that period.
College Events
We had numerous cultural events Euphoria, Cascall, Sports events, literature events. All the events were free to be participated. It had helped many students to tryout their skills and abilities and to test their command in that particular field. I was part of the Statistics seminar which was a great success.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is reasonable and there was enough time for the same. My fee structure was some where around 7000-10000 in a year. I was quite comfortable with the fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship facilities are offered on basis of BC/SC quotas.Some scholarships are offered on the basis of the credentials of the students. I have not availed of any loans.
Exam Structure
The exams were well scheduled and there were lots of time to study and prepare for the exams.We did not have any last minute rush at the curriculum of there was no pouring of notes in the last minute. Every exam was well scheduled and we had about 3-4 weeks of study time each semester after the curriculum for that semester is completed.
Admission
The admission process is more organized and based completely on merit. (I don't know about the un aided courses) I got a chance to work as one of the assistants in the admission work. So I know well of the process. It is just so transparent . All the forms are entered and segregated department wise.
