Entrance Preview

I appeared for NMAT where 1000 + participants were for marketing stream with 120 seats in this part-time MBA first batch in 2003 year. I got to know about best faculties & facilities for student & very strong managment of kelvani mandal trust supporting this institute.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, NMIMS provides internship programs. Normally, the range starts from 3-5 lacs & they look for minimum of 5 years work experience. NMIMS a legacy of 35 years, NMIMS has grown to being not only one of the top-10 B-schools in India but has also emerged as a multi-disciplinary University with four campuses at Mumbai.

Exam Structure

NMIMS followed tri-mester system instead of classical semester system which divided the load by providing adequate intervals to offer enough time. In trimester system after every 10 weeks , 1 week was additional reserved & 12th week usually followed up with exams & later followed by 1 week of break in between before the start of the next trimester.

Admission

I have to appear written test NMAT followed by group discussion & personal interview to get final score & rank of 141. I felt sorry as i had missed upon to feature in 120 rank by short margin but my fortune shined in a month later of that to know that due to cancellations of few seats , I had become eligible for admission in this program.

My SBS Journey

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

Not a dream college but a real one

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

from 2 sem you get to apply from interships and from 5th sem for placements ,i applied for only company which was tiaa one of the most biggest mnc in india who is direct compitator of jp morgan , i got a package of 6 lacks ctc per anum but the highest package was 12 lacks , the college has a policy that all student gets placed no students are left behind

Promising campus with room for better faculty.

Placement Experience:

After sem 4 we get final placement companies in the campus there are total 200 plus companies come to the campus till september to november almost 35 companies already come to the campus. The companies are ICICI, HDFC, RISHAB WORLD, INSYNC, DENSTU, ITC, BHARAT ELECTRONICS, CORDELIA CRUISE, MORNING STAR, NOMURA, NYKA, NAUKRI.COM. the highest package was given by a company name bharat electronics for HR specialization is 12 lakhs per annum. Almost in my time there 35percent get placed. I plan after degree is first 3-5 yrs in corporate lufe then after own business.

To be honest there are placements but the placements are like no one want to be there it is just something unacceptable for the HR students . The promises the long talks are all false and they doesn't focus on students future and career rather they care for just attendance

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.

Remarks:

No such bad remarks though. As the college is very superior and one can take admission with complete ease as the college faculty, staff, workers are very helpful and there motive is very clear and remarkable. This college surely helps students in grooming and enhancing skill to the top. i applied to symbiosis , du ,ip but choose nmims as it had a better placement record , reputation and rankings plus the real world corporate exposure. Eligibility for the course was the person should be from healthcare background that science and if not the person should have work experience of one or two years in the healthcare sector.
