Remarks
1. I applied for Malini Kishor Sanghvi College, L.S. Raheja and M.L. Dahunukar college. I got my name in the 1st merit list in the MKS College and this college was my 1st preference among all 3 so I took admission in MKS college. 2. I didn't avail for any quota so I don't know the details about the quota system's applications and functions but, yes, the college does have different quotas for the applicants. 3. Due to applying for BMM, the minimum criteria was, age should be 16+ and marks should be 50 minimum. 4. The admission was completely online and simple, there were no counselling sessions, and there was no requirement for that, we had a helpline number for calling them to ask the doubts regarding the application process.
Course Curriculum Overview
1. In BMM there's only 1 division as of now, it has 60 students. The faculty is really great and there's a core faculty that remains the same for all the semesters and there are other faculty for some specialized subjects that keeps changing according to the subjects and semesters. The faculty is really great in terms of academic teaching, syllabus completion, guidance and motivation. 2. The teachers and the faculty are highly qualified in their respective fields and as per the qualifications, they are assigned the particular subjects. Every teacher's teaching method is different, some are very lenient, sweet and calm, some are strict, some are completely academic focused and some are focused on an overall holistic approach. Long story short, there's a great mix of all kinds of teachers which make a balanced mix. 3. The exams are perfectly timed and the difficulty of the exams depends on the students how thorough and sound they are with the chapters and subjects.
Internships Opportunities
1. In college, internships are shared in the different class groups through CR's, various committees and teachers. 2. College's placement cell "Pathmakers" brings wide range of internship opportunities for all kinds of courses which are shared to every student through whatsapp group and everyone has the fair chance to apply for the respective companies and roles of their liking. 3. Pathmakers provide both paid and unpaid internships, it varies from company to company and role to role about how the stipend works. 4. The person's selection and the maximum and minimum stipend is not disclosed to everyone, it stays with the Pathmakers, the company which is acquiring and the students. 5. The possible outcomes of an internship are innumerable, it depends on the student how he/she pursues it.
Placement Experience
1. The college has a placement cell which is headed by the placement committee which consists of the faculty members, but the whole workings and functionings are managed by the college's students, we have a placement cell committee namely "Pathmakers". I've also been a part of it so I can tell what we do, we talk to a variety of companies according to the courses our college offers through, cold mailing, consulting HR's, sending brochures and DMing start-up on Instagram and bringing them to the job fair we conduct where students can apply to have a fair chance to get employed and be a part of the companies. 2. I don't know the highest, average and lowest package per company and person and even then I don't know the exact percentage of students getting placed. 3. I know some people from our college which have started their startups which are now functional in a good position. 4. If I've to give my perspective after I get graduated I would do a part-time job and MA.
Fees and Financial Aid
1. Yes, definitely the fees of MKS is on the higher side as compared to other colleges nearby, but I feel it's justified and not at the same time. It's justified because, no other college is providing a similar infrastructure as MKS, it has 4 huge football and cricket turfs, the campus is huge and spacious, it has an AC auditorium and an open auditorium as well. The interior of the college is classy, elegant and up to the standards. The fees are not a little justified also because as compared to colleges in the same area with a big fees gap margin, it doesn't have AC in any of the classrooms, not even in the staff rooms for teachers. We can see ACs only in the cabins of upper management faculty and computer lab. And even the computer lab also needs a lot more improvement as compared to the fees. 2. I didn't get any scholarships, financial assistance or a job from the college. The most they'll assist you is, with the part payment option, half payment now and half payment for next sem.
Campus Life
1. college life is really good for me, it depends on the person, like what kinda friend group he/she has, what kinda activities and events they are participating in, are they playing sports, etc. 2. There's an annual college festival "Crescendo". If you are a part of it you'll love it. 3. The library has a full stockpile of books, there's no scarcity whatsoever. Every floor has its library according to the courses taught on that floor and subjects. 4. The classrooms are decent, they have a good ceiling height, perfectly aligned green and whiteboard, fans work properly and cover the maximum space and there are no issues with the lighting as well. 5. The college has got 4 good size football and cricket turfs which can be used in multi-purpose courts as well. As the college has in-house turfs to play, there are always people from different courses in the turf playing so there's no need for a special sports event for us to play. It's like when we play, its an event
